The food here is outstanding. Go for the rotisserie chicken to start. Then try the fried chicken and the shrimp and grits. It's all delicious. Enjoy!
Stopped by to check Dirk’s out after a friend recommended it to us.Pros: the food was absolutely wonderful and everything came out fresh. The KFC and Nashville Fried chicken are absolutely wonderful. Both are spicy, but not killer hot. Tried a friend’s chicken fried steak fingers great too.Cons: When busy the acoustics are off and it can be hard to converse at the table. The wait time for food during this visit was long. Unsure if it was just this evening or a normal occurrence. Regardless it wasn’t a big deal for our party, but for some it could have been an issue.I’ll definitely be going back. The serve good food at good prices. Check them out!
Food was delicious - just a tad salty, but good home cooking. Fried chicken done absolutely perfect juicy and crispy. Chicken fried steak came as strips so tender and the flavor was tasty.Fried okra comes whole but so crispy with delishious homemade ranch sauce. The sides are to die for. Yum!! Wait staff was amazing, they were busy and yet never had to ask for refills on drinks at all.If we could give this place a 10 we would. We did have to wait about 20 on a Saturday so just know good food ...ya gotta wait a bit.
They have the absolute best chicken fried steak I’ve ever had. BAR NONE! The chicken fried steak is so good here that it will ruin all other chicken fried steak for you. Eat here almost weekly, it’s my favorite place in Lubbock and they do soul food right for this Mississippi boy. Everything is awesome and the service is always great. You’ll wait a bit longer if you order bone in, but it’s worth the wait. Try all the sauces… they are great!
This was my first visit here. The Nashville spicy chicken was delicious. The restaurant was nice and clean. It is a good place to spend time.
The chicken and sides were good. We came in with a group and a few of us had drinks in our hands. We were not asked to leave with the drinks. Our server grabbed them off of the tables once we sat down and poured them into the trash can he dragged over to where we were sitting. It was handled very poorly. A simple conversation of “hey, our policy is that you cannot bring outside drinks into our establishment. You can either step out with them, or throw them away.” Note: we were in town for a bball tournament, none of us were inebriated, and had a glowing recommendation from the Cotton Court just up the street “Best Chicken in Town”
The fried chicken, mashed potatoes, collard greens and the fried steak were simply delicious!!! ?Plenty of food, a must try place. You won't be disappointed. ?
The food was amazing from the oysters to the fried chicken! I had the shrimp and grits. You will not be disappointed.
Food and service was fantastic from the chicken down to the corn it was great. Had lunch without the wife today and can't wait to take her so I can have it again.
