Needed a snack and a cold beer after spending the morning at the Buddy Holly museum. Ordered the smoked brisket nachos and two different local brews. Nothing short of fantastic. Chips were light and crunchy and the brisket was killer. A must do.
This is normally a great choice. If you have any issues here it's usually a poor waiting staff. Sometimes you get one who just thinks every guy wants her to strut her stuff for a tip. However i have been coming here since they where In the old location and have always enjoyed the food. I would always recommend them for the breakfast or lunch menu's.
Good burger. 1st timer to this place. Loved the decor it was a little too dark for me since I'm blind from my left eye, couldn't see very well in there. Waitress was very nice. Will come back again to try the chicken fried chicken!!
Ate lunch here before visiting Buddy Holly Center (across the side street). Busy locals place. Food is good and the staff is excellent. Would eat here again if in the area!
Work staff and I ordered to go and the food was good but they forgot the the gravy for the chicken fried steaks. We ordered for a meeting so we can't go back and they didn't offer any accommodations. So tasty..just dry meat...
Food here is always top notch and you can't ask for a better wait staff, regardless of who it is.I think Cast Iron Grill has the best home made tasting chicken fried steak in Lubbock, and if you're looking for desserts like grandma used to make, this is the place. Just order them right when you sit down, or they might be out of them after your meal.Just wished they were open on the weekends, but as busy as they are during the week, I can see why they don't feel the need to. Highly recommended.
I like the decor, and the food was really good, I had a slice of buttermilk pie which was delicious. I really enjoy the breading they have on their fried foods. (save for the okra) Everything tasted great, can't wait to go back and try another dish next week! The servers are also very hard at work, and very pretty!
We had lunch. Breakfast runs from 7-10:45. They close at 2 p.m. The food was delivered quickly and was hot and delicious. Our waitress was great! It has a wonderfully casual, country vibe! We will go back for breakfast at some point.
Good not great. Green Chili Gravy didn't look like gravy or taste good. With a name cast iron you would think the food or just the chicken fried steak would be cooked in cast irons but no it was deep fried and very tough not tenderize. The bacon burger was good and a very large part of my good review. The bathrooms were disgusting. We had to remind the waitress for the side salad after we already halfway done with our meal. But the burger was good....
One of the best places in Lubbock. Period! This Lubbock exclusive restaurant has the best and most affordable home cooking in the area. The homemade pies are so delicious that they will make you crave them even for breakfast. I have eaten here ALOT and I have never had a meal I didn't like. Wish they were open on the weekends.
