In town from San Antonio visiting family. Barron's has always been a solid choice for good food and atmosphere literally for decades. My first time in this newer set-up and it was great: excellent service, terrific food, clean restaurant and bathrooms, etc. A very good experience for our party of 6. Keep it up, Team Barron's!
The fish was good. The service was terrible.The food took forever to arrive and the vegetables and potatoes were room temp at service. The waitress must have been having a really bad night as she was not friendly and bordered on rude when taking our orders. She never checked on us once the food arrived, never filled our drinks until we were ready to leave and asked for the check, there was trash on the floor from the moment we walked in that was never picked up, and there were tables that remained dirty and un-waited during our entire meal. My empty salad bowl also remained on our table throughout the meal.I normally START tipping at 20% as I know from experience how hard waiting tables can be. Tonight, I left 10% and that, I felt, was overly generous.We were hoping to find a nice place for “special occasion meals.” We’ll keep looking.
Had lunch here with family before a wedding. Three different items and everyone enjoyed their meal. Barron's was recommended by longtime locals.
Made reservations for 745. The place wasn't as packed as I anticipated considering it was Valentines weekend. Shocked when we were sat at a tiny, corner table behind some doors that literally faced the wall. My Husband's view was a wall. Running joke of the night was, "Nobody puts baby in a corner." Service was a bit slow and we were told why several times by our waiter. Food was excellent though. We decided to cut our time short and split an entree just toSave on time. Maybe we will try another time.

Had my first visit at Cafe Barron's a couple days ago. Was there with a large Real Estate group about 25 or so. Generally the service was good, as was the food. Although I did not actually get what I ordered. Still it was good. Had a choice of chicken or fish. I chose the fish. Was oven backed and breaded. Heard the chicken was tough from a couple people.There were covid-19 precautions anywhere that I could see.The wait staff was good but it didn't seem great to me and could have been a lot better. I would want to actually visit again without a large group of people and just have it a couple of us. Then see what the service and food is like.It seemed as though the atmosphere was probably better outside the main conference room where I was seated so I really couldn't even say much for the true atmosphere but I have a feeling it's better than what I experienced. I will plan to go back and try it again one day. I'm not even sure what else is on the menu other than Fish and Chicken. Would be interesting to find out. If you're in the area, give them a try see what you think of them.
We love Barron’s Cafe! The service is friendly and excellent! The food is always delicious! We have tried many items on the menu and have never been disappointed. Even when they are crazy busy, they make us feel welcomed and special! We are blessed to have them in East Texas!
My go-to place when people come to visit! The pleasant atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to visit wirh family and friends over a great meal! The menu is diverse, something for all appetites and ages! The staff is attentive and friendly. The ability to drop by to shop makes it perfect to pick up a special gift!
The food was very tasty, until I got toward the end of my lunch and noticed a bug in the salad. Ugh. Pointed it out to staff. He took my plate, and didn't even acknowledge it much less provide any kind of apology. Further, service was very slow, even though the place wasn't packed, and did not seem understaffed. Maybe it was just 'one of those things' but they didn't handle it well at all. Won't be back.
Fabulous food, drinks & desserts! Crabcake sandwich, hot n crunchy chicken, chickem salad sandwich were all delicious and generously proportioned. The crawfish bread appetizer was my favorite, just beyond! Parmesan truffle fries were also delicious. The chocolate lava cake is pure decadence!
