Clean, helpful staff and great cue! We had ribs and sides. The baked potato salad was delicious. The slaw was good and crisp. Highly recommend!
The food was great, the reason I give 3 stars is because when I arrived they were out of half of their meats, including brisket! It was around 1pm. I recommend arrive early if you want to have full menu options. Beans were yummy!
Visited Longview and searched for a place with good bar—b—que , and we found it! Boxcar is a local place that’s on the small side , local owned. It’s a little on the pricey side( what isn’t these days!), $60 lunch for 4, but portions were huge and food was great. The four of us enjoyed a variety of things, all were great. I loved the chopped beef sandwich, my wife said the turkey sandwich was also great and the couple with us really enjoyed the ribs. I highly recommend the cherry drink that was very refreshing and unique to us ! EXCELLENT DESERTS, if you have room. Typical smokehouse style decor. We will visit again if we are this way again and recommend you give it a try.

I've been wanting to try them for awhile now, but I was definitely disappointed based on the reviews and my order. I got the 2 meat plate, but the ribs were so salty and I got a lot of fat with the brisket. The baked potato salad was overly loaded with what taste like mayo to me which I was not expecting since it didn't mention it on the Waitr site, and the beans are very salty as well. I'd be willing to try again just maybe in person is more the way to go. It did arrive very quickly tho.
Cooked to perfection. Ribs were just right, good crust, tasty rub, and not over-cooked. Excellent smoke flavor in the brisket sandwich, and not too moist or too dry......just right.......and substantial size. Add your own condiments to your liking. (onions, pickles, jalapeno slices). Sauce on the tangy side to my liking. Fair price for good portions. Love the baked potato salad. You can't go wrong here. Friendly staff.
BEST barbecue we’ve had in this area! The hot links and brisket were fantastic. I got a gigantic brisket loaded potato for $6.99! The owner and cashier were so nice- that’s how you do good business. ??We will definitely be back for our bi-weekly barbecue night and every in between!
Been eating here since I moved in 2017. I know bodacious BBQ is a staple in the area but I go here instead. I like the flavor of the meats better and I also like the BBQ sauce more. Don't sleep on the desserts either. Everything here is good.
Food was delicious.. BBQ sauce on point. And Good customer service. But for the prices. Their side items smaller than what I'm use too. They need an upgrade. Overall satisfied non the less.
The absolute best barbecue at a reasonable price. I had a hankerin for their monster sandwich, but after a busy day, they had run out of turkey and hot link. I ended up getting a melman with regular sausage and it did NOT disappoint! Just as satisfying and flavorful as the monster and piled high with chopped beef and sausage. Plus they’re not greasy like most other bbq joints, just moist and tender. Their sauce is sweet and tangy, perfect. And some of the best potato salad and cole slaw I’ve ever had, better than grandma’s! Sometimes they have this strawberry cake as well that could melt your heart, and the slices are huge! Their service is speedy and their employees are helpful and kind. All in all my favorite spot to get a hearty bite!!
