We asked multiple people where we should go for good Mexican food in Laredo, and they all told us about Taco Palenque. Don't sleep on this chain! The food was delicious, and the salsa/toppings bar was a wonderful bonus (I had the street tacos and charro beans, and my friend had fajitas). The man cleaning up the dining room was so nice - he directed us to sit in a cooler part of the dining room, bussed our trays, and sang to the diners. A wonderful experience overall. PS: the San Bernardo location is the original Taco Palenque!
The coffee is always bitter and dark. It appears that the system they use of instantaneous coffee is not well calibrated. All the taco palenques have this system and the coffee is in my opinion not tasty. I usually have to go inside and pour half the cup with coffee the other half with hot water to balance the bitterness. The food is very good and the prices are competitive with other restaurants.
My panchitos were soggy in less than 10 mins. They look premade. I asked for no avocado and there was avocado in between like they just scraped it off. Always this location. The one by guadalupe has great panchitos. Maybe get some tips from them.30 chips stuffed into this small to-go plate. 1 LB of beans. Im not kidding. The plate is so heavy of just beans and chips. Like 15 pieces of tiny little meat.
Is a very good place to eat Mexican food with your family. But there is an issue that happened today. I was eating with my wife and all of the sudden a homeless girl approached me and several more people eating there asking for money. I certainly don't have anything against no body and I understand that We as humans need to help the elderly people but, this girl was not dressed clean at all and she was taking stuff out of the garbage cans and taking them where all the clean food was and all the clean cups, spoon, forks etc, etc. All these were infected by the acts she was doing. I really think that if Taco Palenque management wants to help elderly people is a very good idea for them to have special treatment for all these people, and have them clean themselves before eating. Today was not a good experience for me and my wife to see this great restaurant on this conditions. ? Sorry I know you can do better. You have to be careful for the inspector to see this.
Ordered the chilaquiles two days ago and I got food poisoning then.Ordered two breakfast pirates today of potato and egg and they gave me the wrong item, and this is not the first time this has happened. I got chorizo and beans, no egg, instead of potato, egg, bean and cheese. It even says potato and egg on my receipt. All I ordered was those two potatoes and they took near 20 minutes to get my order ready.Last week another incident where I ordered Pancho's with extra fajita and there was literally, and I counted, 10 little squares of meat.
Okay so I’m not sure if it’s the time of pickup (5 AM) but this is the second time this happens to me while picking up breakfast. I asked for bacon and egg tacos, and always end up receiving bean and egg. Wish there was more quality control. The salsa requests here are also only right like 40% of the time.
This place has the best mexican food ever! Like, really!!! There isn't a place that make their fajitas taste so good like TP... And with the best fajita you have the best everything... Piratas, quesadillas, tacos, tostadas, panchos, panchitos!!! You name it! Love TP!
Very yummy! Wish we had this back in Ohio. Got the Panchos. We dined inside and they let you put your own salsa and onions, etc. They fill the panchos.
Food is great, prices are comprable to food quality but they seemed understaffed out in the lobby. It took a while to get our order and the young man running the food seemed to be really pushing it. Being short staffed is never fun but still four star since it's not my first time visiting.
