We traveled to Laredo for my wife’s nephews high school graduation dinner. I had never been to JC before so had no expectations. Our waitresses was a pro, Karen was her name. We had 13 and she did a fantastic job of checking on us throughout the evening. Karen if you read these thank you for a wonderful dinner. Five stars.The food and drinks on the other hand, I wasn’t impressed. I ordered a mango margarita and the first one was good. No complaints. The second one I ordered I swear the alcohol didn’t make it to the drink. I ordered frozen but had ice chunks throughout the second and they were a big distraction plus the buzz I had from the first was completely gone after the second was finished.The mozzarella sticks were good. We all enjoyed them. The stuffed mushrooms I personally thought no big deal. They had mixed reviews at the table.Pasta dishes were ordered and they seemed to be liked be those that ordered them. The younger kids had pizza and they loved it.I, along with one other ordered a burger and honestly didn’t think It was that good. Kind of a boring burger I can make at home.Overall we had fun and Karen our waitress made the experience more enjoyable than the food. I personally rate the food average. Not bad, not outstanding, but very forgettable and way overpriced for the results.Karen you need to be working in a fine dinning restaurant. Your talents are wasted here.
Be careful if you have allergies/intolerance, they don't follow corporate's menu. I asked what was on the house salad, and according the the allergen menu it has no cheese, but the waitress said it has cheese on it.I got the angel hair pasta with tomato sauce as a vegan option. The food was really tasty. The service was super slow.
Great service and yummy food! I definitely recommend taking advice from your server when you don’t know exactly what you want to eat. My server Ashley recommended a delicious chicken pasta along with their sangrias. Great weekend lunch!!
Mitzi was the absolute best waitress we’ve had at Carinos in a while. She served our big group quickly, efficiently, and with smile always. Everything went so unbelievably smooth and made my brothers birthday that much more special. Thanks Mitzi!!
It's always usually a great time. Food is good and prices and specials are very good. Today( Sunday the 10th of April) about 2-4pm, wasn't totally busy but bar area was just a tad slow as far as the attentiveness. There were literally 5-6 people. Drinks were a little weak but still decent. Their extensive menu has something for anyone and not only limited to "Italian" .

What makes a great dine out besides great food is a great server. The food is always, as my wife and I agree, delicious at Johnny Carino’s. But the server made our enjoyable meal complete. Not once did we have to look for her to get what we needed. Made us feel like we were the only ones there in her area. We found out her name was “Odie”. GREAT employee.

More like no service. We walk in to the restaurant and are promptly seated in the bar area in a high table. We wait about 15 minutes and we are completely ignored by all the wait staff, finally one waiter notices us and realizes that we have not been attended to. He walks up to our table and instead of at least taking our drink order or asking if we would like to order anything, he says let me find out who your server is supposed to be. After a few minutes, he comes back and says he doesn't know who our server is supposed to be. In the meantime, what i presume is a manager (wearing a red jacket) comes out of the kitchen area, he proceeds to ask the waiter that originally came up to us, "who sat them?" again instead of addressing us or even apologizing for the wait. At this point we are walking out, visibly upset and neither one bothers to apologize or even address us but rather continue to try and figure out who sat us amongst themselves. Needless to say, we are at Olive Garden now. Lousy Customer Service.
Food took long, i dont like to be after waiters to clear dishes from the table that i have been done with, didnt ask if we needed refils or if we needed anything else, And then still has the audacity to bring me back my ticket after he saw that I did not leave him a tip he said thanks a lot and I said you are welcome very much,,,, The only way I leave a tip is if I see the waiter very very very attentive of every single little thing.
