We went there for lunch on a Saturday - waited 25 minutes at 1:30 for a booth by the window, for us it was worth it! Both the food and service were excellent. If you like shrimp, their plan fried is a must have! I had the fried oysters - large serving and very tasty as well!
First time diners here and we were thrilled with our decision to give it a try! We had the all-you-can-eat and it did not disappoint. I like that the servers bring all the food to you. Starts out with cold peel and eat shrimp and fresh oysters on the half shell. Then you can choose your fried only selections. I had the shrimp and oysters and I could not believe how big and fresh they were. It’s a nice dusting on them, not a thick and overpowering batter. The service was very good! We will be back. Fantastic water view of the shipping channel!
Wow, what a great spot! The views are excellent and the service is top notch. Try to get a window seat just to take in the great views. The food is excellent and I cannot wait to return to try the all you can eat seafood option. The rolls are delicious and fresh. Yet the best is at the end. A cinnamon roll that could quite possibly beat my Aunt Letha’s. But don’t tell her.
Now this is what a no-nonsense seafood establishment should be. The food was excellent! The fisherman's platter was delicious, fried oysters were cooked perfectly. Calamari appetizer was a crowd pleaser as well. The girls loved the atmosphere, watching the traffic on the ship channel go by. Will definitely visit again.
My sister and I decided to go on an impromptu drive to visit the San Jacinto Monument on Wednesday last week. We are native Houstonians, but neither of us had ever eaten at the Monument Inn. We had the 8-count fried shrimp with mixed veggies, and it was the ABSOLUTE BEST shrimp meal I've ever eaten!! The greeter met us with a friendly smile, and the waitress was so courteous and the food was prompt. Great experience! Worth the 1 hr 15 min drive from the Cypress area, for sure!
Best food and service and the tarter sauce is the greatest. Will go back every chance we get.

Amazing food and great service. I went on a Saturday and the place was packed. Despite the amount of people my family of six was seated in 30 mins. Signs were posted stating the establishment was understaffed, but my food still arrived promptly. Great service and delicious food.
Monument Inn is a local institution. The atmosphere and views of the channel are outstanding and the staff amazing.I loved my appetizers and the blackened red fish. Sides were... okay. But everything else more than made up for it. Gotta love fresh made cinnamon rolls served with a smile.
We had the best waiter! His name is Lane. I am recently gluten-free and he was so helpful. He took the time to go through the entire menu and tell me what my options were. It was delicious!
