We visited Nukumi last night. We were asked if we wanted Habachi which we did not, then seated at the doorway into the Habacgi was being done. There were several very large groups shouting and having a boisterous time. We requested a move and were relocated. It appeared the original waitress kept our group. We have rated here often and mostly for lunch as very close to our home. The waitress seemed lost, we had to request more menus. We ordered water and after some time it arrived. We were asked about appetizers but had just opened the menus. Ten minutes later she returned, again appetizers We ordered a Beef Takati and a Sweetheart roll and chicken lo mein for us. Our guests ordered mushroom soup and Tempura chicken rolls(2) as well as Nukumi Tempura which includes a soup and salad. After fifteen minutes our guest went to the entry of the kitchen to see what had happened to the souls and salad. They came out a few minutes later both soups tepid and the salad lacked more than 1/2 teaspoon of dressing. No one one ever visited the table to check on our now empty drinks. I had to go to the bar to request the soups be heated. They were picked up and I noticed the waitress just standing at the end of the bar lost. Then went behind the bar and microwaved to soup. Our beef Takati arrived looking very sad around the rim of a small bowl with some bits if cucumber sliced in the middle but no sauce. Again it was difficult to gain the attention of anyone but I caught the receptionist as she delivered one more Grub Dash takeaway. During our visit the takeaways boiled out the doors. It seemed their focus. The Sweethart Sochi roll arrived. Instead of slices to fish and avacado it was mashed and not at at spicey our even tasty. The Nukumi tempura arrived a few minutes later. Half cooked batter on precooked meats and veges. The Lo Mien arrived dished on a plate without garnish. No sauces were offered and the soy sauce on the table was empty. One of us went to a nearby table and found some. After ten more minutes I chased down the waitress and asked where the Tempua Chicken Sushi was as everyone else had food except the guest who ordered it. She was unable to remember the Sushi returned to the table and it was reordered. Fifteen more minutes passed with no Sushi. I went to the front desk and asked why. Turned out it still had not been ordered after ten more minutes it arrived. No explanation, no apology, everyone else watching our guest eat with dry drink glasses. The waitress arrived with the check while our guest was trying to eat. Very uncomfortable for her. I approached the manager, who had been there the whole time and told her our experience. I was told the waitress was new on Fridays. Sorry. I said sorry really didn't cover the disaster if a visit. She only then offered a discount which I refused. I feel this restaurant is poorly run, lacks continuity to the menu and has lost its ability to serve diners because they are smashed by Door Dash and other takeout orders. We saw at least a dozen large takeout orders picked up without any delay while we sat getting piecemeal service. My recommendation is find another place Nikumi is a large waste of money and has poor quality food.

I was not too impressed with the hibachi. I went out with my husband and we sat at the hibachi which was nearly empty. Had a table to ourselves. After we finished our soup and salad they sat a family a four with us. And they ordered appetizers and so we had to wait for the hibachi to begin. Then when it came time to serving the food I think we only got onion and maybe a couple pieces of broccoli for our vegetables. They really need to add more broccoli and carrots to their mix or divide it better among everyone. We both agreed we didn’t need to return.

Service was fast and sushi was delicious! The tuna tower and couples roll are now my new favorite!

Very nice atmosphere, extensive menu and great presentation. But I felt that all of the flavors were flat. All of the ingredients seemed to be high quality but nothing had the flavor "pop" to bring me back. The spicy edamame was pretty good but the seasoning didn't pair with the edamame as well as it could have.I don't mind paying a premium for sushi if the quality AND flavor are there but I can't say that's the case here. The people in the hibachi room seemed to be enjoying themselves and I may return to try that but probably won't be back for sushi.

The food is always delicious, the sushi or the hibachi taste great which is rare (usually restaurants are good at one but not the other). The service is always friendly. I’ve been going there since they opened and it’s always been consistant. I recommend it, you won’t be disappointed

I’ve given this place multiple chances and each time they keep going downhill. I usually get the chicken fried rice and it literally taste different every time. This time will be the last since it took over 45 mins on a late Monday night to get my food out. The dumplings tasted like they came from the frozen section at H‑E‑B and the rice was dry and bland. I don’t recommend this place at all.

Good atmosphere and great food and service. Took my son there for dinner and he enjoyed the hibachi grill. I tend to eat sushi but they would not allow me to have sushi at the hibachi table as there were not enough guests. So I ended up having a hibachi dinner instead. Not my favorite, but the quality was good. If it were not for my son who wanted to see the cooks, I'd have just ordered takeout.

I am a regular and I came in at 2:35. I realize that they take a break from 3-4. The waitress promptly let me know that they were closed at 3. I politely ordered drinks, appetizers & main & offered to close out the check, as to not need any more service. The food was delivered by 2:46 and check was closed out (20 percent tip) TV and music turned off at 2:50. Waitress was sitting at a table with her head down.If this is how you are going to treat a customer who comes in at 2:35 and is respectful towards you———just lock your door and refuse service.I don’t appreciate the disrespect.

Pleasantly surprised at how fresh and delicious the sushi was. The sushi rice was perfectly executed. Service was great and the decor is well done. We sat at the bar, ate, drank and watched the Astros. Full bar with great craft cocktails too. We'll be back to try the steak and lobster!

Food was very good, service was on point. Very nice people and cool Environment.
