When I walk into a restaurant and I can't smell food that was cooked or being cooked, that's always a red flag for me. I walk back to the register I see warming trays. That's red flag number two. Now, I don't know what "authentic" Jamaican food tastes like, I just know that this was bad. I ordered the Jerk chicken that was way over spiced with a very powerful taste I could not get rid of. I also ordered the curry chicken that was very bland, could not taste the curry. I will say though, the fried plantains were delicious.

I'm A Ride Share Driver Who Is A Very New Transplant To Central TX From Central FL and I Looked Up the Other Day When I Was EXTREMELY "H~angry" ? After I'd Finished Dropping Off A Passenger and There Was, "ISLAND SPICE RESTAURANT" RIGHT THERE.... So, I Thought To Myself.... Let's Go Give It A Try, That's the ONLY Way You're Going To KNOW IF It's Any Good Or NOT????Well, I Ordered My "GO TO" Meal To Vette An Authentic Jamaican Restaurant (Since I've Got A Born & Raised Uncle From the Uncle Whom I Grew Up On Him Actually Dispatching the Goat ? and Preparing Us Authentic Jamaican Dishes Him & My Aunt So, I Think I'm Quite the Critic Now @ That I'm Also A "Well~Seasoned" BIGG WOMAN.Now, the Meal Which I Ordered Included Curried Goat, Rice & Beans (Would've Preferred Authentic "Pigeon Peas"), Plantains, and Steamed Cabbage With Shaved Carrots.....? Let Me Tell You ALL IF You Are In the Killeen TX Area and Desire An AWESOME Caribbean Meal "ISLAND SPICE" IS Indeed WORTH the ? Money, Time, & Your Effort To Visit. The Establishment Was CLEAN With A Pleasant Atmosphere, the Meat Was Actually Choice Cuts Unlike Some Places I've Unfortunately Experienced That'll Cheat You By Serving You "RIB MEAT" (Which Lacks Meat and Is More Grizzle That's Inedible) But, NOT @ " ISLAND SPICE" You Receive What You're Paying For and Some.I DEFINITELY Rate Them @ FIVE (5) STARS and WILL Be Revisiting Them Again Next Time I've Got Another Hankering For Some Caribbean Cuisine.Thanks For Such A Pleasing Experience.

Amazing amazing amazing. We get the curry and jerk chicken plates and they’re so delicious. Chicken is always tender and the sides are always yummy. And you get huge portions for an affordable price. Love this place.

I think this is one of the best Jamaican restaurants in killeen. I love their rice and peas. It would be nice if their servers were a little more personable and pleasant. They lack basic customer service skills. Customer service is important to me when I am spending my hard earned money.
