The food was great and the restaurant was clean (including the restrooms) and smelled right when we walked in (if you have been to bad seafood restaurants you know what I mean) . They were short staffed on servers when we came and the manager was stepping and helping serve. Greg took great care of us. the food services was fast enough and done perfectly. Definitely coming back!
A sample of all the boil items placed in the Perfect Storm that I could eat in 1 sitting. Mussels are huge. Haven't seen any that size. Everything was delicious with the Hook Reel special blend sauce. Added an order of Boiled eggs and sausage. Called the order in for pickup. Great pickup experience. Would have preferred the corn ? a little sweeter and juicier.
Good food and good service. Our server Nyla was awesome.

The food was exceptional. Atmosphere was right, good music. Only thing that could've been better was the time in which it took to receive the food. 20min to get our drinks, way too long. All in all it was a positive experience.
Our first time at the Hook and Reel Killeen location was a good experience! It was very busy in the late afternoon, and they definitely could use some organizational and planning procedures at their greeting entrance.Brittany our waitress was outstanding and very attentive, helpful and friendly! We both had the fried catfish basket with sweet potato fries, large portions!! The food was cooked perfectly, arrived hot out of the fryer and was very tasty!This is a family friendly very casual restaurant, reasonably priced, our food was delicious and the wait staff was attentive. We will try it again soon!
This restaurant and bar has a hip almost club type vibe. I enjoyed the music! Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The floor manager was very helpful. He went above the norm to make us comfortable. The wait for our food seemed standard. My drink took a little longer, but I think our waitress may have been underage and had to wait for someone else to deliver the drink. The food was palatable for the most part. We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer. They we seasoned well but over cooked to the point of being rubbery. For my meal I ordered the catfish basket and a side of broccoli. The fish was very fatty but seasoned well. Over all I will visit again because the atmosphere and customer service were nice.
This was our first time at Hook & Reel and first of all...Yummm! The food was delicious and our server was fantastic❤ We will definitely be back soon!
Great seafood boil, but the other dishes I had were really disappointing. First the good, the shrimp head on so buttery, garlicky and with broccoli, now I can eat all my vegetables as long as they're drenched in butter. Fried oysters and calamari, they're fried so delicious. But the the sweet potato fries were left under the the heat lamp way too long, inedible, so dry and texture of a boot. Crab roll way too much sauce with crab that tasted like it came from a can. Pasta was mediocre just mixed with marinara, with boiled mussels. Voila seafood pasta. Overall fun experience but next time stick to the boil and maybe fried seafood on the side.
We had the mild lemon pepper shrimp boil and it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The service was phenomenal as well. And the price was definitely affordable for what we got.
