Sports bars are my favorite places for food and drink. I like the casual setting, the usually good variety of beer, the bar food and, of course, the televisions tuned to live sports action. For these reasons and others, I was psyched when I learned that a new Walk On’s Sports Bistreaux in Katy, Texas, was open, not far from my home. The atmosphere at Walk On’s is about the way one would expect, at least from the perspective of viewing sports. There is no shortage of televisions and anywhere you sit, you will have a view of a screen. The one fact that is not what I expected is the darkness and the layout. The wood, the black walls, and other factors make it a little darker than I would prefer. And the central bar makes it less open than I expected. It’s not necessarily bad, just not what I anticipated. With the beer, Walk On’s has a respectable selection of beer on draft and I was able to find several craft beers to my liking. If you prefer wine, there are options there as well, not to mention a full bar and signature drinks. If liquor is your preference, I recommend sampling at least one of the signature drinks, as many of them look/sound interesting.Food at Walk On’s consists of bar fare such as sandwiches, salads, seafood, wraps, burgers, appetizers, tacos, poboys, and desserts. The food is pretty good and matches well with the beer. Prices are not bad, too. It’s also common to find special deals and offers during game days, many of which are quite economical and make a visit worthwhile.I love sports bars and Walk Ons is a welcome newcomer to my hometown of Katy, Texas. I would like it more If it was lighter and brighter inside, with a more open, sociable layout. But otherwise, this is still a cool place for food and drink, located right next to interstate 10 for easy access.
From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left, we were treated like family. Or server was Sarah and she was a true professional. There were six of us and she delivered each order to the correct person. There was an empty glass on the table. Sports were on the flat screens and we went there at 530p dinner rush with the Astros pregame starting. Everything from the kitchen cook times, food temps, and Sarah's attention were spot on! You need to try walk-on sports. I had grownup grilled cheese with corn grits as my side. Yummy!
Went to watch a baseball game and grab a bite. Environment was awesome and Mitzy was incredible!
This is a great casual place to dine with friends, a date or even kids. They have tons of screens, good service, and great food. We enjoyed their pasta and their tacos. We had their fried alligator which is pretty good also. Good spot
The bloody mary is good and the bartenders were fabulous. No crawfish this season. The crawfish etoufee was not good, but my guy liked the fried crawfish tails. I got a shrimp wrap that was inedible. Manager came out and said it was full of grease and comped it... but those first few bites had made me queasy. Better luck next time.
My friend and I loved our lunch visit!! The wait staff were wonderful and made us feel special. Paige served us, and the took time to share suggestions on the menu. I ordered a draft and manager gave me a sample of her favorite to consider. ?❤️We were even treated to delicious beignets to finish our meal. We will go back soon. ?❤️
I have been here several times and never disappointed. The appetizers are delicious. DEVILS ON HORSEBACK and the Cheeseburger Sliders are always a HIT. For the entrees I have tried and like are the Lemon Butter Chicken and the Tuscan Chicken. The beer selection is great. The service is always great.
