If you’re looking for authentic Malaysian cuisines, waste no time to try! Remind & ease my craving back home. Husband & I had the roti canai, curry chicken & wan tan hor. Super delicious & authenticity’s. We will be back for more!
Great service and good food that keeps us coming back.
One of the rare authentic Malaysian foods you can find in Houston. Satay is the must try item and most items, including sauce are made by the restaurant owner. They are under staffed due to pandemic so be patient, you will be happy with the food!
Been wanting to go to Uncle Chin’s for some time now and so glad I did today. It’s a small 20 seat restaurant and not easily visible from the road. Service is prompt even though there is only 1 wait person (co-owner).We got there at the tail end of lunch and 3 tables out of the total 5 had patrons. Still we were greeted and our drink orders taken and served quickly. They have a small menu which is displayed on the wall. Some items are rotated from time to time.As soon as I ordered our 1st dish my accent gave me away as someone who has been in SE Asia. That opened up more conversation and reminiscing of the good old times out there. We ordered the Chicken Satay which is the best I’ve had in Houston so far. It wasn’t dry as it in other places but moist and a little fatty. I also had Nasi Lemah which was served with a side of potato curry and a rice of chicken which was cooked in the same curry. It was the first time that I’ve had the chicken curry combination. The Nasi Lemah could use a little more coconut milk. I also had Grilled fish with sambal. The sambal was tasty. If you like it hotter, they will add more chilli padi to it. Our last item was Char Kuey Teo with seafood (chicken or Tofu option available)- very authentic tasting. This is definitely a multi visit place. Just be patient if you visit. It’s basically a 2 person business and everything is cooked to order. After lunch I e had some good conversation with the owner Francl.
Great atmosphere. Family run Malaysian restaurant with authentic Malaysian food. I had the Nasi Lemak and Roti the first time. I'm going back soon to try the Satay and Kway Teow next.
Clean place and nice people. We tried chicken satay, Hainanese chicken& rice and stir-fried flat noodles. The food is so good. My kids love chicken satay. Hainanese chicken & rice is also a must-try dish.
Very authentic Malaysian food. Great service and great food. Really glad to be able to enjoy some comfort food in Katy area.
Wow, what an incredible experience we had there at Uncle Chin’s Kitchen. We had three dishes – Malaysian fried lemongrass chicken wings, the stir-fried flat noodles char kuey teow with seafood, and nasi lemak with curry chicken. All the dishes were fantastic and delicious. The chicken wings came out hot and crispy with a nice hint of lemongrass flavor in the seasoning. The stir-fried flat noodles were firm and chewy and had a wonderful smokiness flavor to them. The nasi lemak and curry chicken was a new dish for me, and the owners (chefs) were so friendly and kind to explain to us how to mix the items on the plate and eat this dish in the traditional Malaysian way. The accompanying curry for this dish can be very spicy hot, so be careful. I am glad we have another Malaysian restaurant in the area and would highly recommend this place. We will go back to explore more dishes here.
Feels like home having to find these foodies in Uncle Chin’s restaurant. Satay, teh tarik, nasi lemak are yummm. ABC cendol too..
The food was outstanding and the owners are great people. So glad we found you…will definitely be back!
