My family and I always end up here when we don't know what to eat. They have a fairly big menu with a lot of variety. The food always comes out hot and fresh. Food is consistently delicious as well. Service is hit or miss. They are pretty busy almost every time we go, they've always been nice, but they are always on the go- so we may have to flag them down for more water or napkins. Overall we really like it here.
Went to dinner with my friend. We ordered 3 items. The beef rice noodle with Chinese broccoli, the kung pov chicken and the house special rice cake.The noodle looked dark and very dry. It needed more oil and sauce. It smelled and tasted burnt. The few pieces of beef we found in there were dried and chewy. And there were like maybe 3-4 pieces of broccoli in whole dish. They were very stingy with the ingredients!The Kung pov chicken was very bland and watery. The brown sauce was water down and needed more seasoning and spices. It could not even be compared to Panda Express, that was how bad it was. The only dish that we liked and was good was the rice cake.The food was pricey and unimpressive. The waiter was nice and friendly. But overall they need to improve the quality and taste of their food. I gave the place two stars because the waiter was nice and friendly otherwise they would have gotten just 1 star.
For sure a hidden gem! I am obsessed with this little restaurant in the middle of Katy! (Katy Asian Town/ Katy China Town) Amazing service. The food was piping hot and the taste was beyond my standards! I opted for a few appetizers to get my feet wet and now I can’t wait to make myself back there.
I’ll only give them 2 stars bc I’m a regular buying food there.. My husband bought me wonton noodle soup on March 9…. I brought it to work on Thursday the following day and this is what I find in the bowl of soup… lucky I didn’t swallow a piece of the silver sponge… beware everyone and don’t buy their wonton noodle soup…. Just check your food thoroughly before you buy them… but wait how do we know what’s in our food when they prepared the dish. Someone need to speak up and contact the health department so they can investigate the restaurant to make sure they are following the sanitation regulations. It’s a matter of health concerns to everyone.
One star for the service. It was Sunday night so I understand it was about closing. The sign still says ‘open’ so we went in. No host. We sat; my husband had to signal a server. She said it was closing so we had to make the order stat. She gave us the menu books right away, took her pen/paper and just stood there waiting on our order. In other words, rushing us. My husband asked if she could give us some water first but she said that she had to get our order first. How in the world can we pick our order for one minute of reading the menu?! Thought the way she was treating us was RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. I could have appreciated it if she told us nicely that the kitchen is closing and could no longer take orders, rather than rushing us. We closed menus and left.Or they should have taken off the open sign so they don’t have to rush customers.
So delicious! I came for lunch and everything was hot and yummy. The server was very friendly and gave great suggestions. Definitely will be back!
This place is DELICIOUS! My friends and I just stopped by tonight and everything we ordered was amazing. I got the fresh coconut juice, green beans with pork, and crispy beef with orange peel. Everything was absolute perfection and this is now one of my favorite Chinese food restaurants.
Been going to the original tan tan since I was a kid and now I live in Katy and so happy a new location is here. Pan fried cake is a must ,the general tso is the best and the shaken beef is amazing. Basically pick whatever it's all good! Service is fast and great!
The only reason this place has good reviews is because there’s a place connected to it that’s probably actually good. “Tan tan wok” itself is horrible. I went with my boyfriend today, & first off we waited a little while to be seated. Second off, had a hair in my food. 3rd. Waiter seemed like he hates his job, and he literally said “need to go boxes?” 10 minutes later my boyfriend had to walk up to the kitchen and ask for some because none was ever brought . The food was horrible so we just paid and left. Won’t be returning.
