Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there including Dexter and his staff team who are working hard at serving us today at Slim Chickens. We had a pretty decent size order for eight people. Before we even finish filling up our drinks, they had our 30 piece strips, fried pickles, two waffle combos, and large fries done and ready for us to eat. Also on top of that he kept up with all the different ways we wanted to try the different sauces and had them ready to go. Dexter and his staff are polite professional and fast. I would definitely recommend anyone to come out and enjoy a nice meal at the Slim chickens.
NEVER try the fried pickles. Too much salt. I spoke with one of the workers the next day and she completely agreed. I don’t need to soak them in ranch for me to enjoy. It’s good for tenders and fries.
Good food and good service. First time to eat at Slim Chickens. Clean restaurant and bathroom. I'd eat there again. I had the strips with the inferno sauce. The inferno sauce was pretty hot but had a good flavor also.
Went in around 6:20 to grab some food. Not busy at all, very great service with kind staff! Food came out fresh in about 5 minutes and probably the best wrap i’ve had! Also, the fried pickles NEVER MISS! They’re always so good!
Kept seeing the commercials for their new Crafted Chicken sandwiches, late night on Pluto TV. No judgment. Anyway, they looked really amazing and the commercial claims they're "cooked to perfection." Well I wasn't about to let that claim go untested so I tried them out on a rainy Saturday afternoon. When I'm trying new foods or new restaurants, I like to get a few things off the menu to really get an idea of how the rest of the menu "performs". I ordered three sandwiches, the chicken club, the buffalo ranch, and the classic chicken. All three were really cooked to perfection! Full of flavor, juicy but not dripping with grease. The buns were fluffy and flavorful as well. Now, even though they were all three delicious in their own right, none of them were particularly distinct from the other. That is to say, the $4.00 Classic was almost indistinguishable from the $7 Club and Buffalo Ranch. - I will definitely be back for another round of Craft Chicken Sandwiches, still need to try the BBQ chicken sandwich....but I think the next time I want a regular style chicken sandwich, I'll just order the Classic sandwiches and add things as I crave them; pickles, tomatoes, sauces, etc. - overall, Slim Chickens is legit! Very good food.
If you’re not actually going to do curbside, don’t offer the service. I followed the link to show that I arrived, waited 15 mins and no one came out with my food. I finally went in, no one acknowledged me or asked if I needed assistance. I grabbed my food and walked out. I ended up having to go back in because my order was incomplete. A young lady acknowledged me, but not in a kind way. I told her what I was missing. There was no apology or anything. Not that it was a big deal, but it was the least she could have said after everything. Learn to be kind to your customers. I am not one of those people who believe “the customer is always right”. But I do feel that it wouldn’t hurt to be more considerate when it comes to your customers and to at least acknowledge someone who walks into your establishment.
My wife and I went for lunch on Sunday, February 6th on the way to Costco. We both ordered wraps. She order the buffalo wray and I ordered the ranch one. Mine had maybe two chicken strips tops and a little bit of lettuce and looked really sad. My wife's had about the same amount of chicken and a ton of lettuce and her chicken was COLD! When I took hers up to the manager, i was told that all they f the lettuce probably made the chicken get cold. Another employee told me that they always put alot and f lettuce in the wraps. We’ve been going to Slims for quite awhile now and usually they put at least twice as much chicken in their wraps compared to what we got today and it has always been hot and fresh. We hope this was just an isolated incident because we’ve always enjoyed coming to Slim Chcken for lunch! ?
Their Buffalo Mac bowl is soooo good and the cranberry lemonade too! Definitely recommend
I haven’t had this place in 2 years since I was in Lubbock. I thought it was the best. Drove 30 mins from Houston today to eat here. Customer service was top notch, food was hot and fresh and all of it was good except for one thing - the chicken strips. The strips had absolutely ZERO flavor. They were not marinated, had a tough texture and lacked any flavor. The chicken was unusually small (about the size of boneless wings) and was barley breaded. The chicken tasted like store bought chicken that had not been marinated and went straight into a frying pan with vegetable oil. It tasted like tough, overcooked chicken with no seasoning. The fries were good, the toast was good, the sauces were great but the chicken was terrible. I felt like I wasted my money and I won’t be coming back.
Very disappointing visit. Drove about 25 minutes out from Houston to try Slim Chickens because it looks like it has really good potential. But there were all kinds of problems. First bite into the chicken tenders I noticed that the chicken was tough and stringy and I had a hard time biting through it. It wasn't over cooked at all, in fact it seems to be cooked at just the right temperature but it was not marinated properly and wasn't very pleasant to eat. The chicken also lacked flavor almost entirely except for the taste of fryer oil. The tenders tasted like a chicken breast that was cut into strips and then slapped in a frying pan with vegetable oil with no seasoning at all. The pickle chips were very salty and the toast was not buttered. The buffalo and garlic parmesan dipping sauces were served cold, when they should be warm. Most of the tables were dirty. I will not be coming back.
