This was an absolutely fantastic culinary experience. Parking was extremely easy and available. There was a 30 minute wait during peak time without a reservation so we had a few bottles of sake. Once we were seated Amanda was our waitress and she was extremely attentive, helpful, and genuinely pleasant! We ordered the calamari to start and it was great. We then did the "feed me" option which is $48/ person for multiple chef/staff choices based off your preferences and curated to what you enjoy. It was an absolute perfect explosion of flavour & spice in all the best ways. (Pictures attached) Thank you to Amanda for taking great care of us and I look forward to coming back. This was easily the best dining experience I have had in years!
I had heard so many good things about this restaurant so was excited to try it. It did not disappoint! We started with the roti canai. It was warm and crispy and the curry dipping sauce was amazing. The beef rendang was so incredibly tender and flavorful. Despite all of the rave reviews about the Hainanese chicken, this was my least favorite dish. The flavor of sesame was very strong and the dipping sauces were not the best. The chicken lacked flavor even though it was drenched in soy and sesame sauce. I wouldn't order that dish again but will definitely come back to try some other dishes. The service was also great.
my husband and I ate here for my 75th birthday celebration. The decor is very industrial and therefore is quite noisy. The food however, is excellent and the waitstaff were attentive. We had the Prawn and green papaya salad (kerabu prawn) for an appetizer and it was very good with an excellent sauce. Our two main courses were Chili prawn and the Ikan bakar golden pomfret (fried fish). The chili prawn was excellent, but the fish was not as tasty as I expected and it was not a very meaty fish. We had leftovers of the appetizer and the chili prawn, but neither held up well until the next day. The sauces had been soaked up into the shrimp, so there was no sauce for the rice. If we lived in the area we would return and order different menu items.
We had an incredible meal today. We sat at the bar and has the best service. We did the meal where we had two appetizers and 4 entrees. The Feed me option. He asked us a bunch of questions and brought just a bunch of different items. What a great way to explore this menu. We will be back!!! The curry dip with bread was delicious. Seafood, chicken, beef. All wonderful
First time to eat here as well As first time to try several types of Asian cuisine. We went with folks from Malaysia so he ordered a variety for the table. Started with the fried bread and chicken curry dip. It was excellent. The green beans were the tastiest we’ve ever eaten. We had chicken on skewers with peanut sauce. Another chicken dish with multiple sauces and a beef with rice dish. All very tasty. We will be back
Nice and cozy place. Must try Roti Canai. My 4 yr old loved chicken satay and chicken noodles. We tried two vegetarian dishes - sizzling tofu and vegetable noodle curry soup. Both of them were yummy!
As a meat lover, my fave of my first visit is the sizzling tofu(which I felt is veggie for me). Like how tender the tofu is. Like how 'chewy' the 'skin' of the tofu cubes. Like how crispy all the veggie in the sauce, they just are cooked right. Also like the atmosphere, feeling I travelled back to the past.
If you ever stumble the curiosity to try out this place definitely do it! This Malaysian street food is no joke, for the appetizer we had the Roti canai and the calamari— My son who absolutely dislikes seafood throughly enjoy the fried calamari without him knowing. When it comes to dining in, it is a family style type this allows you to share amongst your party and try a variation of food ❤️
I had never had Malaysian cuisine so we tried this place for an early dinner. We were there at 415 so it was pretty empty. the service was very quick and attentive. we started with roti? some fried bread thing with curry dip. it was great. then a plate of assorted dumplings which were quite tasty. my main course was Beef Ho fun. a noodle dish which was very good. The Love Street beer was a great brew with dinner. I would definitely eat here again.
The best place to have Malaysian cuisine. The food is good and the service is great too. So many good dishes here that I just have to keep coming back and try them all.
