Absolutely horrible... after long day of hot golf, called ahead to make sure there was no wait and we arrived there were many tables empty including the bar and the lazy hostess in the front just sat there reviewing her phone instead of going and checking on available tables, meanwhile patrons continued to come into the bar and seet themselves as she held us back and would not let us be seated. Wait staff would not refill tea glasses
As is always the case for Lupe tortilla, the weight can be a bit overwhelming. In our case, we were fortunate to walk into the bar area and grab a table with an absolutely phenomenal server, and a trainee who happened to also be absolutely fantastic. Why am I not giving it five stars then? It's certainly not because the food isn't excellent, because it is! It always has been. Honestly, it's because the prices on the menu have increased faster than inflation, and it's so rare that I get the opportunity to be able to afford to take my family here. The restaurant has been open 38 years, and I turn 40 in a week or two, and I remember when the item on the menu that I had this evening was just under $9, it's now about 5 cents less than $24. Either way, the Margaritas were excellent, the conversation was great, and the service was fantastic.
We had a great time! The manager walked around checking on everyone and our server Fredie was super cool and sweet. Our food came out well prepared and tasted delicious. My drinks were perfect and overall a good time. The atmosphere was a vibe and love the set up. I noticed outside they have a sandbox thing and a set up for kids which is a plus so they can be occupied or have their own thing going on.I definitely say check them out.
Food is very good wait staff friendly. A plus and a win for me the food came out hot and fast. Great spot for family and friends.
This is my 3rd time eating at Lupe Tortilla and everytime the food was great and the drinks were popping ?
The quality seems to have gone downhill The it's more expensive now too if u want real Mexican not text mex I would try la Hacienda on memorial The flavor is just not that great...
GREAT FOOD nice atmosphere excellent customer service
I've recently moved to Katy and this is the worst Lupe Tortilla I've ever been to. I've been here 3 times and each visit was as bad or worse than the last. So this is not a review based on a one-time visit. There are zero to one table touches in a 1-2 hour dining experience as far as "can I get you a refill on beverages, chips or appetizer. It also takes about 20 minutes from when your glass is dry for them to even ask if you need a re-fill.The food is good once you get it an hour and a half after ordering it, but by that point the whole experience is soured and you're debating just walking out or waiting for your food and drinks after you've been waiting so long.
This ain’t it. I love Mexican spots and we go regularly. This fajita for two - we had to share the bean cup and plate of rice. That’s very odd for a 2 person plate, on top of that the tortillas were the size of a burrito- terrible to make a taco, and the fajita looked and tasted like a cut up skirt steak. There was no hot sauce for chips, it was a pico cup and a cup of cold beans that tasted like canned beans. Kids were running around barefoot sandy from the sandbox area.Overall it wasn’t a date night vibe or a delicious meal. Plus a $75 bill for meat and 2 sodas. Not returning again.
The beef fajitas were very tasty, you can taste the marinade in the meat.. the rice was not great and neither was the tortilla soup. I loved the red salsa that was made with fresh diced tomatoes with a hint of cumin, very tasty! What I don't like about Lupe's is that they make their flour tortillas with lard!! That's why I don't believe we will go there again, as my husband & I prefer the flour tortillas and not so much the corn tortillas that do not contain lard. Our server, David, was very nice ?
