Kura Revolving Sushi Bar has a nice concept. I had to request the person to clean the seating area prior to sitting us down. Who seats you at a dirty spot??? The sushi on the conveyor belt looks unorganized or deconstructed.Inorder to get freshed made sushi, just order what you want to from key pad. It comes to your seat. The person next to me grabbed my food by accident. The cashier lady didn't know how to change the bill after she tried multiple times. I was with the lady next to me, so I just agreed to pay part of her bill, since the cashier couldn't get it right.I feel like this place has space for improvement both with staff and food. The little robot that brings your drinks it gimmicky, but cute once.I am glad, I tried this place once.
My first time at a sushi bar. It was fun eating at this place. I recommend it. And I will be coming back.
you know it's a hit when the kids' graduation dinner request is revolving sushi! one of the very few places we go where everyone absolutely loves every aspect, from toddler to adult; from vibe to food. getting 15 plates down the chute is a must so u get a surprise toy! one time it was a sushi lego set in the ball that descended the ramp in fanfare! the boys spend most of the time enthusiastically scoping the future track for their desired dishes. my advice is sit near the start of the conveyer belt so u get first pick before other patrons if u can help it. but whatever u do, don't forget the SAKE!!
Sushi is good enough quality for the gimmick, but depending on where you sit in the restaurant you may not be able to get much off the belt and have to individually order. Also many items like tamago and inari never show up at all
This is a pretty cool place and some thing fairly new in Katy, Texas. While revolving sushi bars have been all over the world for many years this is new for Katy. The restaurant is still fairly new. My party dined on a Friday night at 7 PM. We checked in fairly easily with the iPad checking system at the front door. The wait time was one hour. The check in system connects to your phone so it send you a text when you’re about to be called and when your number is called.Once it was our turn, we were taken to a table in the back half of the restaurant. We asked the hostess how everything worked and instead of answering us, she told us to wait for our server. Our “sever” then came and explained everything to us. It was a bit confusing initially. Some written instructions would have been nice. Many of the items on the revolving sushi bar were taken by the people seated in front of us. So we had to wait quite often. The sushi was good, but nothing fabulous. I suppose it’s what you should expect of a revolving sushi bar. Many if the rolls had names, but no explanation as to what was in them. Also, the special ordering menu changes. Take note. If you see something you want, get it before the menu changes.I did you the restrooms and felt like they needed some attention. I did notice that, at 8pm, the 7pm cleaning must have been skipped. This place is a cool concept. It’s worth a visit. It won’t be in my regular rotation though.
First time trying out Kura Sushi and had a great experience while leaving satisfied from the yummy food! There was a large selection of sushi, handrolls, and additional Japanese dishes such as Ramen or Tempura. You can grab plates as they pass by off the conveyor belt or order directly from the kitchen to your table which was surprisingly quick! The staff was fairly attentive and the place was well kept. They also have periodic collaboration which result in prizes you win as you turn in your plates! The current collab is with Sanrio!
Tamago is my favorite sushi. But the tamago here was very delicious. The food was served almost immediately upon order. We didn't make a separate reservation. There were a lot of people, but I was able to get the seat information right away. The food was generally delicious.
My family loves eating here. The sushi tastes fresh and they have a great selection. It's normally not a problem to find what you want on the revolving conveyor belt, but if it's busy and the California rolls are always empty by the time it gets to you, you can always order from the computer screen and your rolls will zip to you on the upper conveyor belt within 2-3 minutes. Everything is covered by little plastic domes so you don't have to worry about anyone sneezing on your food before it comes around. The prices are reasonable and it's great entertainment for the kiddos. The only drawback is that you don't spend much time in conversation with those at your table because everyone is always looking to see what's coming by.
We really enjoyed when we first visited, but quality keeps getting worse. Today was our 5th and final time. The tuna today looked dried out and rancid. Most of the fish was randomly cut, some 3 times the size of the other piece. Service has all but dissappeared. The place has remained clean, but the sushi and the service have become very disappointing.
Was quick service, but there was not much on the revolving sushi bar when we were there during a prime dinner time (7-8pm), even if it was on a weekday. Had to order 90% of the food from the digital pad vs being able to grab it when it came by. Regardless, was still good and a fun experience.
