My wife posted a poor review for these guys. They some how managed to get it taken down. Very sad.Their items are pretty bad. Samosa chat without the sauces, chicken 65 tasting like sweet and sour chicken. Beware of the tastes because their explanation is every dish can be cooked in multiple ways and so it is ok for a south Indian dish to taste like a completely different taste and anyone who points it out has a racist view. Very sad. If genuine reviews are being taken down, which we posted with pics and receipt , how can one trust the review process. Shame on Google and shame on the restaurant. I am going to dispute the charges purely based on this.Post 2: I think this is a better utilization of my time. It is social service - saving one drive by diner like me at a time - so my time is well spent. On top of serving bad food you have the time to call your customers liars and what do u expect after that. You should refrain from that bad attitude and bad behavior and utilize your time cooking or better yet learning to cook. I will continue to fight my charges and also my review to be upheld. I usually don't write reviews since we see a lot of bad restaurants. But when I come across really bad place where 4 absolutely hungry people can't even complete half the samosa chat, then it has to say something. So I took the time to write this review and even then you use my half plate samosa chat for your benefit and so I am addressing that as well.
I have recently moved to Houston area and ordered take out from this restaurant. The space is nice and service was prompt. I ordered Vegetable Biriyani, Baingan Bharta and Aloo Mutter. The biriyani was average. We liked the baingan bharta and aloo mutter was average. lots of food color. The jeera rice that came with the entrees was stale (may be 1-2 days old and reheated).
We came here for dinner less than one hour before closing and the staff was so welcoming and friendly. Our favorite dishes were the garlic naan and the Butter Chicken. Everything we tasted was delicious and flavorful. Even my picky 4 year old said she loved the food so that tells you something! We will definitely be coming back here in the future! Thank you for the great experience!
I went here a while back, and was possibly the worst Indian food I’ve had in North America. I use to be a consultant so I’ve travelled everywhere and being Indian, I love Indian food and try it everywhere I go.This was just messed up.The rice was bad, had a really odd foul smell, which then carries on to the taste of the curries.Vowed never to go back. Have unfortunately had to tell a few friends not to waste their money.I drive between 30-60 minutes for good Indian food, so when you’re 15 mins away and I have drive past you to another restaurant 20 mins away AND pay tolls. Thats gotta say something.
We moved to Houston a year ago and this place was the 1st place we went to for our desi meal. It’s a good spot the owner is a very good person, hardworking, humble and very respectful to the customers. Here the food is fresh, taste fantastic and comes with good service. My brother and friends visited from out of town and i got food from HotBits and the goat curry was very special, chicken curry was out of this world. This is the proven spot for sure! ??
The food is good don't get me wrong. But ever since they moved next door the service is EXTREMELY slow. The Hindustani man/owner was more attentive this waitress of a joke. They hired a young millennial girl who is deliberately slow and doesn't care about customer service. She is very lazy and keeping her will just make the restaurant collapse from failure. I will return but I hope the man returns. He is more legit than her.
Just Go Somewhere else! Rotten food was served!Ordered their butter chicken with naans and I received a decent butter chicken BUT the rice was spoiled. It smelled disgusting and was wet. The naans were tough and nearly impossible to chew…This is my last time at Hotbits, wish i could give them zero star.
Kachumber salad was tired. Had been in the fridge for days. I’ve made it before and my refrigerated Kachumber was much better. Chicken Vindaloo was vinegary. We have had this many times and it NEVER tastes like this. Chicken Tikka Tandoori was dry and…meh. Sauce sides were the size of thimbles—REALLY? Gonna find another place.
I am not an Indian food guy, but wanted to give this place a try. It was incredible! I had the curry chicken and several types of nan. The food is fresh and well flavored! I ordered spicy and it was darn spicy, truly impressed with this place. I rarely see many cars there eating, but when I was there discovered that it is like grand central station for to go orders. Really really good!
I would rate it ZERO if I could. I was born in India and lived there for a while. I grew up eating the food Hotbits serves. Today, I ordered take out and the food was not what they claimed it to be. When I called them to talk about it, the guy who answered the phone claimed otherwise, didn't seem like they cared for the customer. Just because you use Indian spices does not mean you are cooking Indian food. Last time I will order from them. If you want to eat Indian food, GO ELSEWHERE.
