Completely AUTHENTIC! Born in Chicago, visit often, and ALWAYS have a Chicago style hot dog and deep dish pizza while there. Have tried many places in Houston and the surrounding area but have never come close to what we experienced at Big Z’s. Tried both the Chicago dog, and the deep dish pizza and they were AWESOME! We will definitely return! A huge thank you to the owner for keeping it truly authentic!
Second time here. We have been looking for a good deep dish Chicago style pizza.This place makes a great deep dish with lots of options. They have good tea and a friendly staff.Our only compliant is it has been warm in there both times. They have a swamp cooler which helps until you aren't in front of it.That said...we love the food and enjoy the staff.

$40s for the worst pizza we have ever tried. I say we (all four of us). At first I thought it was just me, but no one had a second piece and we just looked at each other and said "this is awful". Deep dish specialty pizza half white pizza half monster pizza. Maybe it was an off day for them. Half the pizza was burnt. Completely charred. No gooey melty cheese existed. Made it very dry. Uneven oven temp? Idk. The crust was hard and in some spots not cooked all the way. Very heavy on the fennel, strong black licorice flavor.
I lived in Chicago for 10+ years. And I can honestly say this spot is not even close to Chicago style. The pizza is honestly terrible and the Italian sandwich was extremely mediocre. (You could probably make a better one at home)I asked if the owner was from Chicago and to my surprise the answer was "of course. Mr Bobby Is from Chicago." Well Mr Bobby let me tell you as a fellow person from Chicago you missed the assignment chief..by a long shot. The staff was super friendly though. Please if your reading this do not expect to have a good Chicago style dining experience. On the window it says "home of the Chicago deep dish" thats kinda disrespectful.. 0/10 will not be coming back.
* They are short-staffedPlease take that into consideration before complaining. ❤️The night that I attended, both of their servers had called out so the owner was scrambling to take care of everyone.I came to this location on a Tuesday night and they were doing karaoke. It was absolutely adorable because little kids were singing. It was so much fun.The owner is an amazing man. He is a single father running this restaurant by himself with his family.All of the pizza is made from scratch and made with love. The owner implements his own mothers recipes.This a local small business so come and enjoy this amazing pizza whenever you have time to support one of your local business owners!
Great place we found today the Italian beef was amazing the pizza was just as good as I remember we also had great service and good talks with owner/ management we will definitely be back
