Chinese Noodles

Spent $40 on takeout. Beef noodles were ok. Meat buns were ok. Not great but filling and not bad. Spicy popcorn chicken had good flavor and spice level but was tough which offset the flavor when eating so also just ok. The braised pork noodles with scallion oil tasted like rotten fish. We couldn't eat it it was disgusting. Called to see if we could exchange it and were told you cannot exchange or return takeout so guess we wont be eating here anymore. An offer to swap it out as they state on their website that they would would at least give us the feel they cared about quality as they insist on all the bad reviews but actions speak louder than words. Stay away from the pork noodles for sure... if not the establishment itself..

A hidden Gem in Katy! This place is a Chinese street food restaurant, along with some regular dishes. Really love their soup dumplings. The popcorn chicken is amazing. It's not super breaded, but it has a unique seasoning that makes you keep coming back for more. The buns are huge. You will fill up on one! The pancake was definitely different but still good. Not something I would repurchase because they have a lot more other amazing options.

Do you have a favorite place that you absolutely love regardless of people's reviews and ratings? To me, Bao Shi Yi 包十一 is such a precious place that I love even more each time I visit. Bao means Bun, and Shi Yi, Eleven, can you guess the story behind the name? On Saturday mornings, after dropping off father-in-law for his acupuncture session, we like to take a break and have some Chinese breakfast at Bao Shi Yi. The place is always lively with Chinese patrons on weekend mornings. The place is small but bright and charming. I always order their Organic Soy Milk 有机豆浆 because it's the best in town to me, a welcoming beverage to start the meal off properly. They offer Tofu Pudding 豆花 in three options, Salty, Sweet, and Mala Spicy 咸、甜、麻辣. The Sweet Tofu Flower is so silky and delicate that it almost slides off my tongue. It's so enjoyable and fun to have the almost weightless pudding swirls in my mouth before it smoothly glides down. The sweetness level is at the sweet spot for Asian sensibility. Another perennial favorite of ours is Porridge with Preserved Egg and Lean Meat 皮蛋瘦肉粥, which is a recommended house specialty. It's the ultimate comfort food, with complex flavored Preserved Egg and savory Lean Pork slices, in a container of hot Porridge that makes our tummies warm and happy. The most satisfactory thing to order to accompany the two items mentioned above is Chinese Donut - 鸡蛋油条. The Chinese label implies that Eggs are incorporated into their dough, which explains why it smells and tastes so much better. YouTiao literally translates as Oily Sticks, it's crunchy on the outside and chewy inside, and makes my mouth greasy biting into it, but the oil they used to fry it is clean tasting, so befitting its name and executed perfectly by the restaurant. Their YouTiao is my top favorite in town, no other places wow me as much. I would never expect to find the best Cantonese style Juicy Cha Siu Buns 爆汁叉烧包 here at a mostly Mainland style Chinese restaurant, but they beat other Dim Sum places in town for me. The Skin has the right density and fluffiness when served hot, filled with juicy Cha Siu bites inside. When I take a bite into this childhood favorite Bun of mine, I can taste sweet and savory, delivered in a white spongy bun that's like heaven in my mouth. Their style of food is not for everyone, but to me, it doesn't matter at all, I love Bao Shi Yi. It's comforting, tasting, and homely to me. Their food gives me a sense of familiarity and solace that is unbeatable. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Has anyone figured out the answer to the meaning of their name yet? I'm also open to suggestions as to where I can find similar breakfast places. Please share if you have a favorite.

Wonderful experience! Had soup dumplings (to die for!), pork, shrimp, and cabbage dumplings, beef onion and cheese potstickers, and New Orleans chicken bao. I’m personally not a big fan of Bao in general due to texture, but my husband loved it. Also their cups are so cool! Everything was full of flavor, Can’t wait to go back!

This is the Xiao Long Bao we got! All of them were broken and the dough was still raw on the bottom! The meat in the middle was mushy like cat food. Absolutely terrible! Everything else was not good as well! We will not be back! I paid $51 for a few items and nothing was edible .Their soft tofu had grey pieces floating around. Wow! Very very disappointed! Food quality is terrible. Don’t waste your money!

The food was fantastic and really comfortable dining experience with kids

Come here almost every week with my friends cause I love their beef noodles soup. But it’d twice time the taste was a huge different so I started noticing their kitchen during my visit today. There were two different chefs I guess. The fat man made my noodles today was so good while the women made my noodles last Tuesday was so bland and mushy, I even couldn’t finish my favorite dish. Hope they will keep the recipe same or do some changes cause even my friends talked to me same situation. It sounds funny but if you come here, you need a little lucky to have a chance eat the food in the way you like.

Poor food. Bad service. I drove one hour to pickup my order, but my order was not yet prepared when I arrived. I had to wait another 25 minutes for my food, with hungry, tired, and anger. It was my first time to order at this store and it would be the last time there. I will not allow my family to order at that store. And I wrote this message to warn other customers.BTW, I wrote the same comment and posted it one week ago, with the same point. But Google didn't show up my comment publicly. Actually it was my first time to comment on one store.Shame on it.

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Perfect takeaway, it creates so many unique feelings and tastes. Stunning.

Soup dumpling not as soupy as I am used to, but still very good. Mango slush has this super tiny boba that's really good. Ready to try other things here
