Have been dining occasionally at Southern Recipe for over 15 years. Used to be located on Rochelle. And now this location for many years. Great for calling in an order and picking up for lunch or dinner. Also has grubhub now for delivery. Mexican or American food, or breakfast all day available for when you want breakfast for dinner. And they recognize the regular customers even when you've been absent quite awhile. Highly recommend.
Absolutely good food and nice customer service, been coming here for years and have not been disappointed.The prices have gone up just a little bit due to the current events but I will gladly support them unlike that review from Gary Wilson (Loser).Their Beef enchiladas and Sour cream enchiladas are bomb ?
Been here several times, hit and miss. They have breakfast and lunch, not sure about dinner? Big menu, alot to choose from, breakfast, Mexican and home cooking. Can't go wrong with meat loaf, I think they use the same meat for chop steak, just different sauce on top. 3 sides, broccoli and cheese was ok, mashed potatoes with gravey was good, than mac b cheese, it was sour, did not like! Might be old and reheat. Service is slow even though it was not really busy when I went 11:45am.
My son and myself had Mexican dinners there on Thursday night.We asked for one more serving of salsa and chips with our ( Mexican dinners) and was told by a owner thatthere would be a extra charge.So you better not eat your salsa and chips before your meal arrives.Wont be going back after this insult.Bern going there for yeatd.Guess chips and salsa are making them bankrupt.Bye , southern comfort.

This is a very small restaurant! Don't let its small size scare u away! The food is very delicious and hot! Service is awesome! I had the patty melt with onion rings! This was very satisfying! Will be back! Keep it up!
Best place to eat with a great selection of food! Also expect to eat good when you come because they are far from stingy when it come to serving sizes. The best part about them is that it’s all affordable! They’re very nice in there as well and you great treated like apart of the family :) which is the feeling that you would want when walking into a restaurant. ❤️
So good! Salsa that actually kicks! Food was amazing! Server was so sweet! We are from a small town and saw this on google and tried it out! Extremely happy we did! Home cooking perfection!
Been here many times. Everything has been fantastic. The free chips and salsa are better than most Tex Mex restaurants!
Goodbye from a regular customer. Until tonight I would stop in about once or twice a week. The food is satisfactory and definitely better than other options in the area. Tonight I placed a to go order via phone with cook, a burger with Mayo and fries. Once I arrived for pick up the waitstaff an older lady was pretty unfriendly in Demeanor. I opened order and all looked ok except for no Mayo on burger. I asked if I could get Mayo packages and she stated they did not have any. I asked if I could get a small container of Mayo. She proceeded to ring up an additional $1. I asked if I could just the Mayo added to the burger and why would I be paying extra? Most evenings when I stop in there is another young lady very pleasant and professional. Whenever it’s the older lady the entire experience is unpleasant and just not worth my business. This is about the third time I’ve picked up a to go order for to be super unpleasant. So much for trying to patronize small businesses.
