Early dinner (4:00 pm) for my birthday. Took a minute for someone to see us and seat us. Took a minute for the server to hear/understand we wanted a bottle of wine after we ordered. Got the right wine. Table was sticky. Good music! Ordered food and my (English) husband asked if the fish for fish and chips was fresh and told it was. It wasn’t. It was the typical three pieces of frozen cod served in USA restaurants. It tasted fine. I ordered the scallops with bacon wrapped shrimp, it as okay, not delicious. Seem to cater to the bar at this time of day, lots of servers/workers joking and interacting with each other from one side of the room to the other. Been there, done that.
I will give a 5 ? because the food was so tasty, so good, just to the servers ? pay more attention to the orders and don't mess up the orders.
Sat outside on the patio to enjoy some fresh air. Quick, friendly service.Really enjoyed the calamari with Thai chili sauce.Also had bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops over potatoes. Didn’t love the inconsistency of the bacon doneness, so I removed it and just had the shrimp. Both the shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly.
Kayla…what can I say, made our experience! From the management, to the service and food everything was top notch. I asked for Kayla to make me a drink she would be proud of and she sure came through, she made a drink that took me back to my childhood sneaking a drink of my grandmas “spiked punch” as I ran through the hallways of that little A frame house sat of the road nestled behind the biggest of pecan trees…. That’s a true bartender there and I was more than grateful. Thank you to Fish City Grill for making our date night one to remember! We will be back and please ask for Kayla at the bar, she’s the blonde that’s not only knowledgeable but just a wonderful person to be around. (Don’t forget Jonathon in the kitchen making sure the food is not only fresh but bursting with flavor). So if you are wanting a great place to eat, look no further Fish City Grill Irving is the only choice. FYI if ordering from a 3rd party like Doordash, Grubhub or POSTMATES and don’t tip, your order will sit there and be passed over by driver after driver (because you’re not only cheap but lazy) until the 3rd party pays a driver enough to eventually collect your order. This was place great! I started off with a Doz east coast oysters and they were so good I never got a chance to take pics. The fried pickles and gulf coast oysters were great as well. Finished off with the Shrimp & Grits and bread pudding for dessert. Everything hit the spot! Place was packed but the service was on point and everyone was so polite. I just moved to the area and though I have so much of the city to explore this place is already one of my go to favorites! Less than 10mins from my house and with the amount of food I ate $100 including the tip ain't bad!! I will definitely be back soon!
Great fresh food! Catfish was out of this world, exploding with great flavor!! Cheesy grits were good, hush puppies, fries (seasoned) were amazing.Staff was friendly, clean establishment. Had one cocktail and the bartender was spot on with it. Atmosphere was laid back, no wait but was full upon entering. Bread pudding is a MUST!! Served hot and fresh!! Melts in your mouth.Prices were compatible with this area.No masks required.
Great place, awesome service. Heather was super nice, she made sure we had everything we need and great to talk to. The grilled salmon was perfect.
The food was great! Between three of us, we ordered the salmon salad (excellent), the hush puppies (super) and garlic spinach (really good) and a tasty combination of the seafood and jalapeno soups, which was recommended by our server. She even brought us samples of all three of the soups before we ordered! Would definitely go there again.
It has been years since I have been to a fish city grill. I sat at the bar, and Kayla was awesome! Her service and knowledge about everything was great, top tier. I forgot why it took me so long to come back but I will definitely be back to see Kayla soon. Great job to whoever is running this place. 5 stars!
My favorite house salad with salmon in DFW. Good portions and great food prep.
