The service was the only good thing about this restaurant. The food was just bad, bland, flavorless. Really disappointed.

The young lady who served us was very good and friendly. Diane ordered the grilled yardbird (chicken) with homemade chips and mixed veggies ( a contradiction I know) minus the gravy. The chicken was tender and well flavored with what seemed to be a hint of citrus. The mixed vegetables were a little softer than we like but not overdone and a good but not heavy taste. The homemade chips were spot on, lightly seasoned and crispy fresh. A good house specialty.I had the sunny side burger, bun-less, with the mixed veggies ( I'm trying to eat a little better). The veggies I already reviewed but the burger was cooked well and tasty and I'm sure would be a good real burger.Overall we enjoyed the experience and the food. Two thumbs up ?.
From the outside the place looked charming and cute right outside SHSU. Unfortunately the server was passive aggressive and a little rude. Beyond all my other complaints there was this extremely racist and inappropriate sign on the wall. I absolutely didn’t feel welcome especially after seeing that!
Discovered this little country jewel on the way back from Galveston. So glad we got off the interstate for lunch here. Love the atmosphere, vibe and the food. Fantastic old fashioned pies you would of thought your grandmother made. Probably the best Fried Pickles I've had as well.
These waitresses were very attentive friendly served us and helped decorate. Great place for a get together.
It was good, we went as an office birthday lunch and our waitress was very good. The only thing was that the orders were not brought out together so some didn't get their food until others were almost done with theirs and gravy for an order of mashed potatoes side didn't come until she had finished her lunch. But overall the atmosphere and staff were very good
The food and service were outstanding. I ordered the hamburger steak, broccoli rice and cheese, macaroni and cheese. Definitely worth it.
This place is nothing short of fantastic! Had reason to be in town to watch an athletic event at the University. Received several recommendations, and all were spot-on. What I love even more than the food was the service. Wait staff was terrific, taking the time to share their personal recommendations when given several choices by the many people sitting at our table. By the way, save plenty of room for dessert. The pie selection is to die for... Simply nothing like it in the rest of the US throughout my travels.
Had a early dinner since we were in town. Taylor is an amazing server! she was very patient that our toddler kept changing his mind on what he wanted to eat. she was very attentive and kind. We will be back!
