This is the late post, I never got a chance to do it.I only when in one time inside the restaurant to pick up my phone order that I placed. As soon as I walk in smell disgusting with the dirty old carpet. Total turn off, But this place not only over prices, the foods is not that fresh. The worst part is I don't understand how peoples can eat in with the mold smell. Not sure if is because after the Pandemic and didn't feel like do more cleaning and disinfected the carpet so dirty everywhere. Smell old dirty carpet and Mold smells. My nose is vey sensitive, I was already there to pick up the foods, but since is not ready I have to get fresh air outside and stay inside of my car. Because I can't stand the smell, if the restaurant want to keep the floor carpet, they need to keep clean more often with the deep clean carpet steamer to clean the carpet at least every week and dry it well to avoid the Mold smell inside. I feel bad for the employees smelling everyday and mold is very serious for your lung what you breathing in and stay, no way to get them out.I hope the restaurant can keep the carpet more clean, care more about the customers and employees health issue. I can't imagine how's the bathroom or the kitchen cleanings issues. But that was my last visit.
The food was great. Quick service and the waitress was available through out the dinner. The atmosphere was nice and quiet.
I convinced my friends to go to Rising Sun because I have been at least fifty times and usually love it. Today was a very different story. Our server was slightly rude, abrupt, and seemed like she didn’t want to be there. When ordering, we tried to order a bento box and were informed that they were out of lettuce for the salad. We asked if they could give us something else, we were told no and that we would pay the same price either way. Then I was asked if I wanted a second order of Gyoza and I specifically said “no thank you.” She brought it anyway and claimed it was my fault and that I would still need to pay for it. Next, I got my sushi roll (I order the exact same roll every time I’m there) and today it was different from what I’ve had every other time. I asked if I could exchange it and was told no and then was told I was wrong and if I needed to re-read a menu so that she could prove me wrong. She then went and talked to a manager and they kept staring at our table uncomfortably for at least 10 minutes before finally coming over. She wouldn’t give us her name but said she normally doesn’t work on Saturdays. The lack of professionalism and customer service was shocking from the manager. She started by saying “I’ve heard my servers side so I guess tell me yours.” She brought a menu to try to prove me wrong. Then, for an item I didn’t like and didn’t eat because it looked like Coleslaw in a sushi roll, she said it was my fault and she wouldn’t take it off of the bill but the best she could do is give a small percentage off. I have never in my life heard of this happening. I also mentioned that I am a loyal customer and that my team (which is quite large) usually comes here as well and that I’m going to have to recommend they find somewhere else and I was told “well, we don’t need you all. That’s a bullet I’m willing to take.” I was so shocked. If a customer doesn’t like something or it isn’t to standard, you remove it or replace it. As someone who has been working in management in the customer service industry for the past 14 years, it has shown me common sense, sympathy with customers, how to handle situations, and how to be polite and try to find a solution. I always try my best to treat service industry employees with kindness and respect because I know first hand what it’s like. There was no reason to be treated this way. We hadn’t acted up or been rude at all. I was so excited for lunch there today and now this has ruined my loyalty for Rising Sun… it has definitely changed from what it used to be.
I was there last night, the service was terrible. I ordered the chicken teriyaki box and my boyfriend ordered the dragon sushi. My ordered came out first but my boyfriend had to wait 15 minutes extra for his sushi, by the time his sushi came out my food was cold, we needed refills on ourdrinks and the waitress was no where to be found. It was Friday night and they were busy. Not a very good experience. Not sure I wanna go back.
Cozy little spot right off the beltway, we stopped in for a quick bite before heading to the theater. The sushi was fast and fresh they have great happy hour specials.
This place has fantastic sushi. I used to visit this place weekly and couldn’t get enough. They have changed owners since my last visit and I’m not impressed. The sushi is still good but the new owners charge you for EVERYTHING!! I asked for a little sriracha sauce on my fried rice and the CHARGED ME FOR IT!?. Then I found out the charged extra the eel sauce that came on the roll already. Establishment that are that Greedy do not deserve our business.
Used to be my favorite Sushi place in the neighborhood. No more! Empty Sushi bar, limited Sashimi selection, no snapper, no Flounder? The Sashimi Makrel tasted sour like it came from a can. Frequent cutomer discount is no longer honored unless u bring the old card as proof! All the senior experiencef sushi chefs that made it great have left. Hello competition.
Overall we enjoyed our experience. We did have a long wait for food but once it started coming out we were pleasantly surprised. The only complaint I would have is that all the fried things we ordered were quite greasy. Besides that eveything was great! This place also offers soy rolls which was a nice accommodation!
Absolutely lovely atmosphere, delicious food, fantastic service. I tried the Sapporo black beer, kind of watery to my taste for a black one; as for sushi, the double trouble was a clever choice with an explosive in mouth flavor. Recommended if you're near by.
Love it! Great service and the food is delicious the only thing the kids meals weren't good but we got the chicken nuggets and fries! So I would not hold that against them!
