I give it a, “Meh ??♀️” at best, good service, pretty standard tasting food. The concept of a Cajun/Vietnamese place is a little weird... I was expecting it to be more “Cajun” cuisine then it was. Probably better off going to either an exclusively Cajun place if that’s what your looking for.PS- don’t get the wings here, ours were fully of weird looking veins and weird colored meet and still had some hairs on them.
This has become my favorite crawfish restaurant. My flavor of choice is the Cajun spicy. It is not too hot, and full of flavor. Absolutely love this place. When it's not crawfish season, the seafood and Pho are all delicious.
We have tried over the years to go to Crawfish and Noodles in downtown Houston but it has been closed on both occasions. This lead us to this restaurant to explore similar Viet-Cajun fusion. For this visit, it was a takeout order. I was not disappointed with the crawfish. Half was done Cajun style and other half was garlic butter. Was bit disappointed in the pho but it still hit the spot. Also the person taking the order over the phone seemed to be in a rush.Hope to try other items in future and try the dining experience instead of takeout in future.
*Too bad there's not a "ZERO" Stars option.*I just completed redacted my previous 5 star review based on our negative experience with the manager today. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. We've spent several hundred dollars here in just the past 2 weeks....but they won't get another red cent from us.I ordered a plate with 6 fried shrimp and crawfish fried rice instead of French fries, +1 Fried catfish, and +1 fried soft shell crab. Same meal I've ordered to past 2 times. You can see my pic on this review from my previous visit here. The 1st item that arrived was a soft shell crab by itself in a basket. Then 10 min later a fried catfish by itself in a basket, then another 10 min later a giant plate of crawfish fried rice and another plate with my 6 fried shrimp and vegetable fried rice. I didn't order a large plate of crawfish fried rice (just a side order instead of fries) and I didn't order vegetable fried rice. I pointed this out to the waiter, not to complain but to make sure we weren't charged extra for their mistake. He had a puzzled look on his face, he left. Then another woman came by and asked about it, we explained to her as well. She said she would take care of it. Then the waiter came back saying the manager told him to charge us for the large crawfish fried rice, even though it was the waiter or kitchen staff's mistake. Then, the "manager" came out asking about the problem. Short small-framed Asian woman (I should have got her name). That's when the actual problem began....with her!We started explaining to her that this is ridiculous to get bothered 3 or 4 times during our meal about a very inexpensive mistake on their part...in peace. Simply remove the item from our bill we didn't order, simple. My wife touched one of my fried shrimp on my plate while explaining the problem and the manager told her "don't do that, you can't just touch the food like that." What!!!!? We can't touch our own food? I started telling the rest of the patrons that the manager just told us we cant touch our own food. This lady is from another planet or something!!! I could train my dog to provide better customer service than her.We ended up yelling back and forth, her trying to tell us what we can and can't do, and can and can't say. I told her multiple times to leave us alone, go back to the kitchen so we can eat. She just stood over me yelling. My wife was trying to set her straight but she was a complete moron. We left and told her we were not paying for anything. She agreed and told us to leave. She cost the owner of this business a lot of $$ today and a lot of future business.I just feel bad for the owner and the waitstaff. This lady is going to run your business into the ground.*RESPONSE TO OWNER'S RESPONSE*The only person that we yelled at was you, not your staff. Your staff was friendly. YOU were the only person who started being rude. How can you tell a customer to not touch their own food? Crazy! And I ordered very clearly...same thing I ordered the past 2 times I visited. However, even if I the customer had made a mistake ordering, you as the business owner should have enough common sense to take it off our order and make it right. That's clearly the problem here, YOU HAVE NO COMMON SENSE.I've been reading other reviews on here complaining about rude staff. Coincidence? I think not. RIDICULOUS!
This originally was our new favorite place. Food was great and so was the staff. BUT today everything changed in a second. My husband ordered a fried shrimp meal with a side soft crab and a side of catfish, the side was fried crawfish rice. The waiter accidentally ordered an extra full order of crawfish rice. When we made the waiter aware of his mistake, he seemed like he was confused. His manager came to our table and wanted to know what the problem was so I started to explain and when I touched the shrimp on my husband's plate, she literally yelled at me saying "don't touch the food like that". This manager literally wanted us to pay for a plate that we didn't order. She then put her hand in my husband's face and told him that she's not talking to him. Well needless to say I am a momma bear and let her have it. She was so rude and unprofessional that I lost it. I feel sorry for our waiter because we left and didn't pay for anything, per the manager, and she seems like the kind of person that will make him pay for our tab. I do not recommend this place out of principle. The manager will unnecessarily run that place into the ground. This place definitely needs a new manager asap. And please do not hold this review against the original location. #2 is not affiliated with #1. The original owners would never act or speak in this way.Response to the owner/manager, you are a liar! Our waiter ordered the wrong dish. We have been to your restaurant several times and we always order the same thing. You are the only one that I had to get load with because you were talking very ignorant. I am a grown woman and will not be talked to the way you talked to me in front of my children. We are local businesses owners so we know how customer service is supposed to be. You refused to let me pay. We also have the whole conversation recorded. So stop lying, all your bad reviews speak volumes. The family you bought this location from, never acted the way you do. It's a shame that you carry this name.
Food was excellent and the sweet tea oooh Chil
A perfect mix of traditional Vietnamese cuisine and "to the roots" style Cajun recipes, all of the seasoning is super unique for both sides of the menu, even fried fish batter is seasoned to perfection to avoid plain fried food flavor. This place really impressed me as I thought it was going to be rather silly, seriously worth the trip, very good prices too.
Crawfish was great and beer was cold. Owner came out to make sure everything was great! Definitely gonna be back next week!
Whenever I eat here, I promise myself I’ll order something different, but I simply can’t resist the cajun stir-fried rice. It’s extremely favorable and the serving is generous. My wife usually gets the pho and always enjoys her meal. The decor is simple but clean. The service is friendly and responsive.
The food here is really good! Unfortunately on our first visit the heater/climate control was not working for some reason and it was probably 50 degrees (or colder inside). Luckily we were dressed warmly because of the cold front that had rolled through, otherwise, we probably would have left (it was that cold). I am glad we stuck around though, because the food was excellent. We split a grilled pork banh mi as an appetizer and then had some bowls of pho as our mains. Very very good and luckily nice and hot! Will definitely be back, and hopefully the climate control will be fixed by then.Pro tip: They offer a 10% military/first responder discount!
