I ordered veggie fried rice with jalapeño and paid $17, when I looked in the box it was only rice with jalapeños so I went back in and complained and the front person went back in the kitchenwith my box of rice and jalapeños and told me they will make it again and brought the box out with just carrots and jalapeños. Is this what you call veggie fried rice and charge $17? Horrible!
Uptown is by far my favorite spot for sushi. Everything I’ve tried is delicious! The sushi is the best in Houston, always fresh and there are so many unique dishes on the menu. The staff is always friendly and happy to offer suggestions if you’re having a hard time deciding what to order (there are so many great options). Great atmosphere, exceptional service and amazing food!
Food was amazing. Love the atmosphere. The ribs feel off the bone. Will definitely be back.

Uptown sushi is very chic and perfect spot before going out. Their rolls are unique and pleasing to the palette. They have the best appetizers such as the burnt rice with tuna. Also good selection of vegetarian rolls.
Service was impeccable. Andy was the server and he suggested things to try, answered every question, and over all did an amazing job. Good to see people still want to perform at a high level when given a task. The restaurant was clean, tables good size, not too cramped. Parking is fine. The food: Well, it was great. I’ve eaten sushi at the best and at the worst. This is Definitely in the best category. Thanks so much for being good people and doing amazing things!!!

Nice atmosphere and not too crowded.I ordered the Teriyaki Ribeye Maki.(prime ribeye, avocado, sweet potato, teriyaki glaze reduction.)It was a little bit salty but other than that, it tasted good.
I don’t typically write reviews! This past Saturday I went to Uptown Sushi and even though I have been there several times before this time I felt the need to write this.Our server for the night was Brandon. It was the first time I had him as my waiter. He greeted us and asked for our drink order and once he came back he went out on to ask what we’d like to start off with.I’ve worked in customer service for over 9 years and was once in Brandon’s shoes when I was younger. I was very impressed by his service and even more impressed with his knowledge on the menu. He had answer for every question I asked him.At the end of the night I was making conversation with him and asked him how long he’d been there, as it was the first time he had served me. Come to find out he had just started a week ago!I wanted to come on here and give him some recognition and inform his managers of the great service we received. Thank you Brandon!
Uptown sushi is like a great red wine, it gets better with the age. The signature sushis are awesome and so creative. Their starters like LJ Loya, Japanese Crudo, Yellow Pon are just consistently delicious. The Kobe cubes with the little quail eggs out of this world. The ambiance is always great and service always friendly.
