First time time entering the tunnel system! Really was a relief from having to walk outside in the infernal heat. Was evaluating a map of the tunnels when a lady saw us and recommended we go check out Understory! I really liked it!!! Good food, coffee bars, foosball, and other entertainment options! Basically a great place to chill and wait out the heat. Took some black and white photos with the camera. Hope they convey some sense of the space!
I work downtown so this is a great place to go meet, eat or just see new faces! It's a nice walk for me thru the tunnels especially during our blazing summer.
Great space to hang out for lunch. Nice variety of food to choose from. A very open area with a nice amount of sunlight coming from the up top windows. To Beat the lunch rush and lines the best time to grab some grub is around 11-11:30 ish . You can also look up the place online pick what food you want from the available restaurants that have their websites provided and order pickup to avoid the lunch lines ? picture of my Baja Bowl from Farro located in Understory
Understory has a nice range of food and beverage options. Easy access in the downtown tunnels means access on rainy and Texas-heat days. Some places are also open late. A nice place to try if you're at Jones Hall and need a quick bite or drink before your show.
Beautiful building with an amazing architectural inside. It’s a food court with a variety of options. Pretty crowded during lunch hours but after lunch hour is over, it’s quiet and perfect for getting some work done!
Weirdly empty on the weekend I was there, but I can imagine it abuzz with people during business hours. Clean and bright, an assortment of eateries, and plenty of dining space. I went for Flipping Patties, a Filipino fusion burger joint and it was delicious
Went to Common Bond for a drink. Had the coffee chocolate martini. Service is great and the drink was fantastic.
Beer selection not what it used to be but still a good variety. Food shops have changed since my last visit but still seem to be top notch. Great.place to grab a beer and people watch.
We love to go to Common Bond Brasserie/Bakery, Mona's and Farro's. They have so many other places to go to but these are my favorite. I even go when I'm not working downtown which tells you it's easy to get to and a nice atmosphere.
First time there with my uncle. We both enjoyed our meals respectively.
