My wife and I have been here several times but this time definitely missed the mark. Service wasn't great and just little things like salt on the edamame was missing. Not what we've come to expect and hope it's just a one-off.
Consistent quality for the food but for the first time the service was slow. Then hours later after paying for the meal with a credit card that we rarely use. over $9,000 of fraudulent charges were made to the same credit card
We still like MF better. Ume doesnât have the same tasty rice or rolls in general. Nigiri were ok, black cod portion was far smaller than MF for the same price. MF ambiance is better. Ume has people coming in shorts and flip flops.

All I can say is this was the BEST sushi I've had in a LONG time. Just wonderful!!! Hands down one of the best kept secrets here in Houston! Fabulous service, the food was incredible and can't wait to go back!!!!!!

We just got home from our dinner here and it was fantastic. We were greeted upon entering and taken right away to a nice banquette table. Every employee we passed said hello and our server was great. He recommended dishes for us and he was spot on for us. Everything was delicious and I mean EVERYTHING! So good! I love the sashimi and sushi that is dressed by the chef. The fish selection and flavors add were perfect. Plus I discovered a new beer that I like! So happy to have a sophisticated restaurant like this in The Heights
