I'm conflicted as to what I should rate this establishment.We found this place (in March, 2022) when in the area for a completely different purpose. We passed by it and had to turn around to check it out. My wife and I got chocolate waffle cones and found, at that time, that they were only offering a single (large) size cone, even though others were listed on the menu.Nevertheless, the ice cream we did receive was delicious and the waffle cone was very good; crispy and fresh-tasting.I told my sisters (who both live outside of Houston) about this place. They were visiting us this week (in May, 2022) when we decided to take them to try it out because it reminded us of Zesto - a now-closed soft-serve ice cream place we grew up frequenting (and loving) in Atlanta.We live approximately 45 miles from this location and sped out on our way to get some ice cream. We got there exactly at 11:30 PM (closing time in the summer) and we weren't served, unfortunately. The employees were leaving just as we pulled up to the drive through. I tried to get the attention of someone through the drive-thru system and through the window (where I saw an employee milling around), but no luck. I totally get that we were late and they all probably had a long day, so that's on us more than anything.We decided to try again the next day. We arrived at least 10 minutes prior to closing, only to find that the chocolate ice cream we drove so far for was not even available because the machine was broken. Hearing that news completely deflated us all. When I submitted to the employee how far we had traveled to sample their chocolate ice cream, we weren't provided any apology or even much of an explanation, besides the fact that the machine was broken for almost a week prior. In the end, most of us reluctantly opted for vanilla (even though we're all chocolate lovers). My mother had the strawberry, which she loved. And everyone who got the vanilla enjoyed it, as well.In conclusion, three trips (in two months) to Twistee Treat yielded chocolate ice cream only once. The customer service is a little lacking, and hopes are high for a location closer to our home in the Clear Lake area, hopefully soon.I'm amending my review to give just one star because I returned more than a MONTH later and the chocolate ice cream machine was STILL BROKEN.
I've come 3 times in the past 2 months for the chocolate ice cream, which I've heard good things about, but it's never available. I come from 40 mins away and each time they say, "the machine isn't working." Very, very disappointing. Wish I could've tried it! I give up. ?
Great tasty treats!!! Kind of pricey for ice cream but still wanted to give it a try. We asked for a Banana split without chocolate ice cream. We got a Banana split with chocolate ice cream. Drove up to window. Got our items turn around the window is closing in my face. No napkins, No Thank-you, No Good Byes. Customer Service sucks. Won't be going back!!
Do not get the flavored ice cream. Had not been here before and we wanted to give this place a try. My wife and I put our order in at the same time, with difficulty as we could not understand the girl and she couldn’t understand us, due to the loud music blasting. My wife got hers (vanilla and black raspberry) 10-15 minutes before mine (coconut and orange). Mine first came out as a small cake cone, we ordered waffle cone, so they had to redo it. My wife was happy about hers, but mine tasted like deodorant. I don’t think we’ll be coming back.
I did enjoy coming here until I had an allergic reaction because the servers had a "miscommunication" about me saying, "I'm allergic to cherries". I even double checked with the guy that gave me my drink and made a joke saying, "oh I thought you put a cherry on it. I'm glad you didn't because I'm allergic." He laughed and still handed me my drink. I finish drinking my shake and look at the bottom and what do you know there is a cherry.I went back up there to get the names of who was working. I spoke with Sloan and she just said I'm so sorry. I won't be coming back. This not the first time the put a cherry in my drink, but usually they catch it at the counter handling me my drink. They clearly don't check what they are doing or care if they make people sick.I spoke with Sloan. Rebecca took my order and Cam gave me my drink.
Ms Shelby is the sweetest person I love this place! Perfect for after school treats!! Soo much Better than sonic!!! Me and my son go here all the time!!! If you haven’t tried it you should!! Great sizes for great prices friendly staff! I wish I could give them 10 stars
The flavor is great, and I plan to go back a couple times at least, before giving up, since it is so close and simply because of how good it has tasted. I’m very curious to try the “waffle taco” ice cream sandwiches and the sundaes.But the first two tries, two shakes in drive thru, have been disappointing. Last night just before 9pm I got a medium mint chocolate Oreo shake- tasted amazing! Very minty, like Thin Mints cookies. I was disappointed though because it was like a soup! So liquid. And there were no pieces of Oreo suspended in it. You could taste the Oreo, but they were blended so completely that they’d disappeared. That’s part of the fun with shakes in my opinion, is eating the little pieces. I thought they had forgot the Cherry as well, but discovered at the end of the night that it had actually immediately sunk all the way to the bottom. This is how liquid the shake was. I didn’t feel like I was eating anything, just drinking. I usually save half my shake for another day but I quickly drank the whole thing because I wasn’t paying attention.I had already driven away so I didn’t go back to fix it but it reminded me that the first shake we tried (large strawberry) a few months ago was the same way. We had laughed that it was like thick strawberry milk, you could just drink it quickly through the straw. But tasted rich and good and it was our first time so we were just kind of amused. But now I think it might be an issue and I honestly wouldn’t get a shake from there again.
Consistent place for a sweet treat. Open late and workers are always friendly. We order typically through the drive through and they are fast. Endless ways to personalize your ice cream that kids and parents will love!!
This place was really nice & I love the ice cream here. One place I can go where the ice cream sits well with my stomach lol ?
Terrible service tonight! I LOVE their ice cream however, the service and attitude tonight was unacceptable. I arrived 15 minutes before they closed. The guy on the drive through speaker told me I need to know what I want because they close in 2 minutes! Placed my order for a large German chocolate immediately. Arrived at the pickup window and paid. The cup wasn’t even 1/3 full, told them I come here 3 times a week and that was the size of a small. Told me it would be 10 minutes to create a large and past closing time. They should’ve just said they were out and I would’ve ordered something else. Told them to keep the money but I wouldn’t be returning. Certainly this is not what the owners have trained them to do! The service tonight was very rude and will cause me to not return.
