I was very excited about eating here as I have seen and heard so much about it. I made reservations because it was suggested to avoid the wait. You pay $25 per person on the reservation, but it comes off your bill so no problem! You are given huge amounts of whatever you order and the swamp fries are the best I have ever eaten! My problem was there was a $24.99 service charge that was not shared anywhere JUST for making a reservation——- that you already paid $25 per person. Then, you order a daiquiri and they charge $2 for the flavor you want!!!!!! Isn’t that part of the drink?!?!?! Then, if you get a refill of lemonade, it’s $1.00 per cup. This is not a special lemonade with lemons or strawberries floating in it like some restaurants charge. You can get a Hennessy turkey leg but if you don’t order that, you can get the sauce on the side….. but that’s $3.25 extra. I felt like I was nickel and dime for everything that I could be…… without being told up front. DON’T make a reservation….. chances are you will be seated within 30 minutes so it’s a waste. Ask your waitress/waiter for prices…..or throughly read the menu. The experience was good until I got my bill. I’m willing to pay for a good meal…..I just don’t want to be tricked while doing so. In today’s time with everything being expensive, we shouldn’t have to feel cheated when we go out to eat. We feel it in enough places! I recommend going, but be cautious when ordering!
The experience is worth it. The food is good and they have much more than turkey legs. Definitely sit outside to get the full vibe. Make reservations ahead of time to avoid the long line, which was wrapped around the building when we got there. The reservation process is a bit cumbersome but it's worth walking by the line for sure! They have hookahs and frozen drinks. It's very crowded but we came for it...lol. The loaded fries were my favorite!
The food,The atmosphere and the service was amazing. Server Racheal was the best. Friendly, informative, attentive and overall great service.
I’m from Maryland but had to try since I was in Houston. The place was extremely crowded as I expected from other post so I ordered online. The wait was only 40min. Wow was it worth the wait!! Absolutely amazing turkey legs and crawfish Mac n cheese. Definitely will be back.
Man the food was amazing and it was hip and they made sure you felt at home the whole time. While I was in line they had drinks available and great music. The star of this place is the food I had the bowl and my chicken was tender and able to cute with a plastic knife! The turkey leg was tender and seasoned all the way through! This is a must-see, touch, taste and smell for yourself!
Finally made it here, I wanted to see what all the hype was about, and I must admit the food was EVERYTHING!!! We did have to wait for about 30 minutes in line outside, but it wasn’t that bad because of the benches outside. By time we made it in, we were seated right away. My waitress was awesome, and it took literally 10 to 15 minutes and we had our food. Everything taste amazing. The only thing is the rice dressing was extremely spicy, but the waitress warned me lol. This place is so lively, and the vibe is peaceful. I would definitely recommend this place.
Definitely worth the hype. We went in the middle of a weekday, so there wasn't a wait and food came out quick. The turkey legs here are phenomenal and lives up to their reputation. The shrimp alfredo turkey leg is their signature leg, but their shrimp is just okay. The portion is ginormous, so one leg can last two meals for two people! We got a side of spinach to balance the meat. Highly recommend this place and glad we got to try it!
Went to Turkey Leg Hut late Friday night and didn't have to wait in line. I ordered the stuffed turkey leg with dirty rice and a side of sweet barbecue sauce. The dirty rice was very flavorful with a bit of spiciness. The meat fell of the bone with ease. As far as the meat there were pieces that were dry and others juicy. The amount of food is so large I ate from it 3 different times. Our server was so kind and knowledgeable making great recommendations.
This place is amazing . The swamp fries omgggg delicious. Great service fast and friendly . Strong drinks .. will return
I was so excited to go to the Turkey Hut. The first thing I noticed was the vibe of the owners. It was so off and all the staff appeared to be afraid of them. Second my Turkey leg was over cooked and hard on the outside and the 1st layer of the inside. The macaroni and cheese was good. Our server was nice. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks from the bar. We had a party of 15 so where they sat us was way back on the out side (it was cold). Then two muck rats ran under our table and across our feet. The owners did not come over to apologize or offer us anything.
