After being let down by skybox we found ourselves at Toukei. Its a smaller place located inside a strip mall and worth finding. I was feeling adventurous and tried some pork tongue skewers, they were delicious. The spicy Ramen had a nice kick and left me wanting more! Their kimchi was fresh and crunchy. Wish they had eel on their sashimi menu but was satisfied with their sushi combination. Service was fast and accurate.
We had an absolute blast at this place. The food was great and the drinks were quality! We kept on ordering more and more small plates because we couldn’t stop. It is a bit costly but worth it. Between three people we each spent 60 included food and numerous drinks. Our only issue was the okonomiyaki which tasted burnt. I will say it did take away our hunger but the restaurant was kind enough to take it off our check. I highly recommend this place for food and drinks and catching up with old friends. What we ordered :- Truffle Shoyu Ramen. 5/5 strong truffle taste. Cha-syu was tasty.- baked mussels. 3/5 lots of mayo.- Gyoza, chicken karaage, Ebi mayo and takoyaki, asahi, kirin light. 5/5 Great staples nothing that stood out.- okonomiyaki. 0/5 burnt.- sake tasting. 4/5- Junmai daiginjo. 5/5 the Dassai was my favorite on this flight.- ume-nigori my favorite drink of the night 6/5.- short rib, heart, gizzard, and shitaki all solid choices 5/5
Really really delicious foods. Tons of menu options but we ordered a ton of appetizers and yakitori. The food was simple but delicious. Everything came out fast and we had really good service. Someone was always getting us food, taking new orders, and refilling our drinks. It wasn’t too expensive either.I will be back.
I love the awesome dishes they have here. The fact that it's small plates you can try everything. The menu is pictured so it really tempts you to order everything. They become pricey if you over order. Ambiance is nice for date nights, hangouts. Service is usually good, fast and attentive.Everything pictured is 5/5Very yummy and flavorful. So many dishes.Chicken skin 4/5Good crunch to add. Can get a bit hardChicken kaarage 2/5Kinda hard and batter is chewy. Not the fave. The skewer don 2/5It was kinda underwhelming.
Dinner was delicious! We came here two times already! Always get the calamari, the mushrooms and okonomiyaki!!The fried noodles are also great!!The don and ramen were just fine!
Classic japanese food and decor. Fried spam was a creative appetizer. The sukiyaki don was well marinated, with a soft and savory mushroom. Great vibes!
Great service and great decor.
I was craving for a bowl of black garlic ramen at a very late night, and one of my friends suggested to try out Toukei. And they Got me. Their Black Spicy Ramen was amazingly awesome. Aromatic and full of flavors. ??? I also ordered some different types of their skewers.Everything was perfect! Highly recommend.
What can I say? I’ve been here almost 4 times now and everytime it is delicious. Great spot for different kinds of delicious japanese appetizers.I always grab the gobo chips and shiitake mushrooms and then whatever else I am craving of the menu that day. Service is usually good. The servers are always friendly, but today they never served us our drink—no biggie. Food is always delicious and always love coming here.
Delicious food and pretty decent portions! My favorite is the amount of variety on the menu. There are cold foods, warm foods, ramen, sushi/sashimi, and many more. There are even more unique choices such as tongue, raw octopus, and jellyfish! Would definitely recommend.
