It's a Texan classic and it was hyped up so much which might be why I didn't think it was as good as I would've liked. The tacos aren't bad, but they're not great either. I got a trailer park taco (trashy), fried avocado and brushfire tacos. The brushfire was good, I liked the mango. The other two tasted like your basic family night tacos with lettuce, cheese, and meat - nothing special, almost boring. My sister got the Green Chile Pork taco and she thought it was just okay. The vibe there is pretty cool though. They've got a bar and TVs and some booth seating. It was cool, but again nothing special.

Really tasty tacos, they have so much filling, the nachos and queso is so cheesy and delicious! They took out their mushroom taco from the menu, so the only vegetarian options they have are the breakfast tacos and fried avocado ones. This place is definitely a win amongst students as it has a modern vibe at their restaurants.

The staff was so kind. I had never been to Torchy's Tacos before. The food was delicious.

Newly renovated restaurant looks great! Friendly staff, cool bar and the food is amazing. I got the trailer park (trashy) and a friend avocado taco and of course chips and queso is a must!! Only reason 4 stars is because the bartenders don’t seem trained on how to make simple cocktails. Would be nice if they offered us more chips when we ran out. By the time we got them, our queso got cold. I know it’s not a fine dining restaurant, but if they accept tips, then service level is measured. Will definitely be back!

Food is flavorful across all locations but the wait at this one is almost always long. Parking can be challenging at times but usually not as bad as I anticipate. I only come to this location if I’m also visiting premium goods, otherwise, I prefer their Wesleyan location since there is guaranteed parking.

Corporate boardroom takes Americanized taco-themed restaurant and converts it a into a college campus cafeteria ambiance. Is the food good? Yes, but good in an unmemorable way. It reminds me of Chipotle, and that's a decidedly mediocre standard. On a Houston visit to the Rice Village area, I was looking for good Baja style fish tacos. These were not in the menu. The service was very nice - extraordinarily patient, but the service ends after the order is taken. One measure of restaurants for me is to examine the bathrooms. The bathroom was clean, but not upscale sterile clean, and the paper towel dispenser was empty, which particularly creeps me out, because I never like to touch the door handle on a pull door. Otherwise, I couldn't help but notice that the hole for the garbage receptacle was so diminutive that a hand push was required to actually empty the service tray - yuck! Final assessment: If this were a food option for me in college, I'd probably frequent it if there weren't better alternatives. That's about the best I can say, but that's probably exactly what that corporate boardroom was aiming for.

My college kid said this was the best taco in Rice. Yes, it is true but there are room to improve the taste. Tortilla can be better quality like home made and warm enough holding inside. Overall, it’s ok to spend money for hunger

Randomly stopped by for lunch with friends this past Monday. I always avoid Torchy’s because of a bad experience I had 3-4 years ago, but I left impressed this time around.I got the crossroads taco and they were delicious. The brisket was very tasty. I loved everything about the tacos. The only downfall is Torchy’s is pretty expensive for the amount of food you’re getting. Keep in mind these are gourmet tacos so they range from $5-$6 for one. I personally feel like that’s a bit pricy for one taco. The tacos were delicious but I wouldn’t recommend coming if you’re extremely hungry. The two tacos were satisfying but I did not leave feeling extremely full. Overall, it was a good experience. I would consider coming back.

Manager Theresa Cano made it right! I had a quality issue at my last visit. Theresa responded quickly to my concern and remade my order. The food was delicious but customer service was even better.

Got our order wrong. It clearly says NO to those ingredients, instead the tacos were loaded up with them. This was for a to go order, so by the time we find out, we’re already away from the place to request a fix. Please get the quality control tightened up
