After a long and brain numbing day at work, needed to find a place that served good beer and food. We noticed The Rustic was right across the street from the hotel, so ventured over to check out the place. Walked in and was thrilled to find a lively place...not too loud, but just right. Hannah our server came over and immediately made is feel welcomed. She joked around but also provided an impressive knowledge of the menu. Dealing with 7 customers at a table can be overwhelming at times, but she handled it like a pro. I ordered the Salmon Buger with bbq homemade chips paired with a Fullbrook Ale Works Blueberry Cream Ale. Yummy is an understatement, well balanced meal and very filling. If I'm ever in Houston again, will definitely stop by.
We came during Happy Hour and the bartender, sorry didn’t get her name, never came out to get our orders for food nor drinks. My husband had to go back to the bar over and over to order. Food was delicious, drinks were great…BUT… when given an option on the happy hour margarita from frozen OR on the rocks, was never told the on the rocks was $10.95 NOT the $5 on the menu. Plus when ordering dinner after 4 appetizers, again asked chips or fries, and not being told $2 more for fries. When asked for the bill and a box, was only given the paper to sign, NOT the itemized statement. Once we asked for it we saw all the sneaky up charges. If we had been told all of this prior it would changed what we ordered to drink… so buyer be ware!!
Great venue. Staff was friendly & accommodating.
Great spot with excellent food and live music. we got there before 6pm on a Saturday and the appetizers were only $5 couldn’t beat that. Overall it was awesome
The food was amazing, but the drinks were even better. I had ordered everything spicy; grilled cheese sandwich, soup, and drink. I was so happy with my orders. I will definitely come back here to try out their other meal plates. I would recommend to avoid eating in the open space area because of the fans which gave too much of draft.
Was recently in Houston for business and visited The Rustic for a weekday lunch. Really cool dining and music venue in the middle of downtown. Great atmosphere. I had the Rustic Burger with fries which was really tasty and filling. Great service and friendly staff. Shoutout to the awesome manager Alyssa Dillon! She visited our table a few times to ensure everything was up to par. You can tell she really cares about this place.
We like love the Rustic! Food is always great, the drink selection is always good and service always friendly and helpful!
A friend and I paid the Rustic a visit this past Saturday. Overall it was a good experience. I’ll be honest, this is not a place that i would be crazy about visiting again. Don’t get me wrong, everything tasted good but there was nothing that really stood out about this place to me.Nevertheless, this place is really large in the inside and had live music. It had a really nice vibe and our waiter was very nice. Service could have been better but I do understand that it was a busy night because of the Astros game. This place is worth a try if you haven’t been.
Was in town for a convention. This was within walking distance of the convention center. Love this place, a great atmosphere with some unique food choices. Food was very good. Service was spot on. What a great time. Can get crowded during peak times. You need to check this place out.
The rustic has been a place that I've wanted to visit for a while. We finally made it in this morning around 11:15am and there was hardly anyone there. We were seated immediately and offered drinks. We ordered a bloody Mary and mimosa. We thought about ordering a pitcher but couldn't agree on what to drink haha! Then we ordered two brunch specials and man did we get our money's worth. The family-style spread was delicious, fresh, and rustic. Everything from the baby kale greens to the hot chicken to the doughnuts in a cup. We left feeling full and happy. Will definitely tell others about the rustic and make it a brunch staple.
