Surprise .... This place was nothing like I expected... Food was / is really good... I've heard but was buy I now know... The staff was very friendly and helpful.. the price is a bit high but worth it... I'll be back..

Stopped by with friends during brunch! I had visited the week prior from Dallas with my husband and forgot to try the egg rolls! They were bomb! And the sauce was good. A must visit if in the area. The week prior me and the husband got the oxtails and they were delicious! All the sides were good! Oh and that Mac and cheese is the creamiest I’ve had bought a side to go

I went to The Greasy Spoon today for lunch with a buddy and I was very surprised. I read some half good and half bad reviews. We were there at apx 1:30pm so close to lunch time, but for sure not late. The food was hot and fresh. The people serving the food and checking people out were professional and getting the job done in an efficient manner.I ordered the ox tails, yams, Mac-n-cheese, and some peach cobbler. My buddy got smothered pork chops, greens, and Mac-n-cheese, and cobbler as well. (Ended up getting a second plate because one pork chop wasn’t enough.)I gave the place a 5 only because I couldn’t do a 4.5. They were closer to a 5 so I went with that.Opportunities for growth are:1) make sure your drinks are really cold or offer ice.2) i wish the seating was better.3) on the pork chop plate give more than one pork chop even if it does cost more! Your food is totally worth it and I for one am willing to pay for having a two pork chop plate because it’s good food.4) I’m not a huge fan of eating out of to-go containers. I know Covid has change a lot of things with businesses so there may be a legit reason why food isn’t served on a proper plate, but as soon as you can get back to regular plates please do.Overall I will for SURE be back to this place. I hear they have a couple locations so let me state - I was at the Cypress location. I’ve not experienced the other one. (Side note I do judge a place by their ox tails and let me say Grease Spoon y’all don’t owe me a THANG for them! They were tender and delicious!!)

The customer service was Great and the food was better. The price is Reasonable for soul food. The portions were more than enough. The restaurant was clean. I have no complaints!

Okay, let's get into it!I've been wanting to try this spot and have been following them on social media for awhile. Unfortunately I didn't try the famous oxtails this go round.Location-I'm not going to hold you. I was a little taken back when I pulled up. This place is in the cut. The location is connected to a gas station and next to an apartment complex. The vibe was a bit off for me. There was an older gentleman that was the DJ posted up outside near the entrance with the music blasting. There were also some local D-boys posted up. Just an awkward vibe. There was no crowd but the Dj was actively hollering at every passersby. There were a few people eatting in the location and alot of pick ups.Service- upon coming into the establishment. I was greated promptly. There is a small dine in area. If you don't order ahead you can order from a line style set up. Similar to Chipotle you go down the line telling them what you want on your plate. The ladies were pleasant but about their buisness, which I can appreciate. They helped locate my pick up order. From what I could see the pickup orders are made in the back.Packing / products- packing was either plastic or styrofoam containers.Taste-Smothered Chopped Steak: NOT an actual steak, more meatloaf style, it was seasoned ground meat. It was served with rice and gravy. The meat itself was dry; it wasn't horrible, but I couldn't finish it.1st Choice of SideThe Ultimate Mac & Cheese: it's NOT baked mac and cheese, it's like made in a pot mac. I can appreciate it wasn't pure grease. It's like a lighter version of mac n cheese and you can see the seasoning. However, it was probably the least favorite item on my plate, but I finished it.2nd Choice of SideCandied Yams: Baaaaby, I could smell them as soon as I opened the container!!! They taste just liked they smelled, great! They were cooked perfect, smelled good, and tasted great. My favorite item on my plate!!!AppetizerBoudin 2 Eggrolls: I really enjoyed theses. They tasted great and were presented and packaged well. Just yum!!Overall- The Candied Yams and the Boudin Eggrolls were my favorites and the only items I would try again. All in all, this location didn't live up to the hype for me. I think I will take a trip to the Pearland location and try the oxtails and/or the open turkey leg, with diffrent sides. Maybe the original location is better?!?

Found this place just by searching Google for near by restaurants. I was very interested in trying the food in person but the establishment seems a bit small & that's okay. So "Doordash" it was...food was seasoned well & the Mac-n-Cheese was so tasty!!! Fish was also on point, moist & juicy. I plan on making an in person visit at some point. Got my eye on their Seafood Spaghetti & The "Boss" Seafood Stack?Until then just 4☆...

Tried the food for first time We had the Ox-tails collard greens and black eyed peas…food well seasoned and fresh! Staff was very nice and friendly

Went for the first time today with friends to the Pearland location. The atmosphere is nice but the quality of food at least what I ordered was poor the Fish and grits. The fish was seasoned perfectly but the grits were ice cold, it took approximately 30 minutes for the order to be corrected even then the grits were barely warm, ate the fish and sides and just pushed the grits to the side. In my opinion poor quality for the amount of money being spent.

Birthday lunch The food was delicious I would recommend the Stuff Turkey Leg. Customer services and the ambiance was lovely! Yess I will return thanks again.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food was absolutely astonishing! Great customer service, live Dj and great atmosphere! The customer service was great and the peers were also very social and welcoming! I’m all the way from Georgia and wanted me some good soul food on a Sunday! I would recommend this to God! Definitely will be visiting again!
