Good service, good food, no waiting!

Great steaks. Friendly service

Update: Manager Cld wanting us to try it again- Perhaps this place is NOT for me.. The smell of Sewer was not present on 5/26 at 5:30, we sat past the bar, right on the other side of the bar booths. That booth was for the size of regular people, or a 10 yr old.. Lol. Tight fit for dinner! EXTREMELY TIGHT... Not sure why the hostess would sit two larger individuals, in this two-seater booth that was cramped! I wanted to say something, however he doesn't like me to bring attention to some things. We took advantage of the check in via phone, before leaving the house... GREAT experience with this perk (Great thinking Dave).Bad Margarita-After the second one, I switched to ice tea. Bartender and Black Russian for Dave did not even fill a short glass. We tried the jalapeno stuffed cheese balls. Not sure if the greasiness was from the cheese itself, or from the fryer since we've never had them before. They always have great salads, David had the Caesar, it was gone before I took a picture of it. Dave loved his steak smothered (onions/mushrooms) I'm still in search for a good chicken fried steak, in town. Nice tender steak, not too much batter. The cream gravy is always too salty for me. This time I ordered extra cream gravy, as well as some brown gravy.. I was pleasantly surprised with the brown gravy, perhaps I should have gotten this to begin with, if I go back, definitely I'll be having my chicken fried steak with brown gravy and I've never eaten it that way. We have learned to ask for regular butter instead of their signature butter because of the sweetness, we felt something was still sweet on this day, but never before while using regular butter.Chris G. gave us great service.. The row we sat on leads right into the kitchen, this was a very busy section.. Very crowded, high traffic area on this night! Last day of school and they don't have enough seating for them to sit together, 4 people sitting in their booth, with 1 or 2 standing in the isle conversing in such a small area. They apparently were spread out through at least two sections.Again, Chris was a great waiter.Update Above - Sat at the bar while waiting for a seat, the horrible smell coming from the bar area is of sewer. We mentioned the smell, that it smells like garbage, the bartender let us know that it was a sewer backup and they were trying to get somebody to it. This is not our first time to smell that at this restaurants. It sounds like it's an ongoing issue that needs to be rectified as soon as possible. Perhaps someone needs to call the County on this recurring issue.

You gotta get there early or it's gonna be packed, over the years this place has gotten more popular, usually a wait time for a party of four or more. it's not a bad Texas style steak house in Houston, the salads always fresh and crispy, never had an issue with the steaks either, cut and cook they're good quality and they know good and well how to cook it to your liking. I always look forward to cracking some peanuts when I go. It's usually a quick eat for one or two people at the bar.

It was a pleasant experience, the food was beyond my expectations. The BBQ chicken and steak combo was superb but what really caught my attention was the cinnamon butter.Shout out to Christina. She showed great hospitality while training a newer crew member.

Not a fan. “Texas” should be removed from their name. I might be picky. I am picky, but if you think rare [raw] is medium rare, you’re just not at a level of serving steak professionally. You can tell they have issues by how many times they try to confirm you really want medium rare. Atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. They do earn the Texas name in that sense.

The food is wonderful but I go here solely for two things. The complimentary bread and butter, and the loaded sweet potato. Makes the whole visit worth your while. The waitresses I’ve had are great every single time. Although I wish I could say the same for the hostesses. I’ve never walked into this location without watching the hostesses on their phones or gossiping about others. Other than that the service is great.

We were in Houston due a medical issue with my brother. We came on valentines Friday, not realizing the possibility of a crowd. This place was packed. We had about a 20 minute wait. The steaks were spot on. We both had the rib eye steak, medium rareThey were absolutely the best steak we have had at a restaurant. Service was excellent. If we ever go back to Houston, we will eat here again. I highly recommend this place for your dinner plans.

Came here for my moms 68th birthday. It was super packed for a Tuesday night. About a 30-45 min wait on a table for a party of 5. Lots of January birthdays, probably 4 or 5 while we were sat down.Got the grilled shrimp with rice it was super good! Cup of chili was ok.Babe got the rib eye well done was ok but it was super fatty.Mom got a ribeye bone in medium rare her cut was also super fatty, which was super disappointing.Dad got a steak he enjoyed his it was medium well.Aunt got a burger she enjoyed hers.Dani was polite and attentive she also gathered the crew to give my mom the saddle to do the roadhouse bday shoutout. It was fun!
