Hot Pot Taiwanese Ramen
(281) 888-6551

Good foods and friendly staffs, was our first time eating there and will be back

First time here, I’m Taiwanese, so I’ve been looking for Taiwanese style hot pot. This is for sure the place to go. However, if you are looking for the kind of hot pot where everything’s raw and you cook it yourself at the table, this is not that. All the ingredients come already in the individual pot cooked. The pot is really just there to keep it boiling hot. I ordered the Stinky Tofu Hot Pot, it was pretty good. Personally, I find it not stinky enough, but it’s understandable that they’d want to tone that down to not make the entire restaurant smell like that. The deep fried chicken cutlet is very crispy and juicy. The fact that they used dark meat is a bonus for me. (White meat is usually used, but could be dry and harder to chew) The braised pork rice was probably the only disappointment. It’s a very basic Taiwanese dish, the texture was a bit wrong. I think they used too much ground pork instead of pork belly? I’m not entirely sure. Overall, I still liked the food. I would go back if I have Taiwanese hot pot cravings again. A side note, I think they use quite a lot of MSG. It made my mouth very dry the entire night. (Something that happens to me when I eat too much MSG) I don’t think that’s a big issue though, just drink more water. But I know some people are very “allergic” to MSG, they might want to stay away or maybe ask if they can do No MSG.

*The food isn’t worth the price. Exp: golf bowl sized takoyaki with only 2 small pieces of squid inside, and the hotpot is nothing special.*stomach doesn’t feel good after meal.*very rude and impatient waitress.Wouldn’t recommend.

We completely understand that they're a staffing shortage, but that doesn't mean no service at all. The last two times we were here, the staff didn't even want to service us. We had to ask for drinks, then had to call them for utensils, had to track them down to take our orders. Two girls were in the front the whole time, and we had to ask for our bills and refills. We waited longer and had to interrupt them mid conversation for to go containers. My family enjoyed the tom yum hot pot, but the other pots were bland, so you'll need to season it some. I still come here because all of their appetizers been delicious!!! Probably better than their main dishes. The fries, sliced beef, spicy stinky tofu etc has been amazing.

I was so excited to finally go to Chinatown, I know I know it is crazy I have lived here all my life, and never been. It was so exciting, driving around with all the hundreds of options. I asked local insta influencers Houston hot spots for recommendations, and she suggested here. It did not disappoint. It was my first hot pot in Houston. and it was so fun. It is a bowl of wonders, eating all these different proteins and vegetables. Half the time I had no idea what I was eating lol, but it was delicious. The service was good, and the place is super cute. We were lucky we got a table right away, but it can get busy.

Different experience than just ordering a basic bowl of soup. These pack almost everything in a bowl. I tried the Korean Bowl and it was delicious with a kick of spice! My friend ordered the Golden Bowl and it had a more natural plain taste to it.

Good food, service wasn’t great but I would go back for the hot pot.

Poor-quality ingredients yet over-priced. The soup base of all the hot pot is pretty much all MSG. Waitress gave no attention to customers, slow, seemed bothered when customers asked questions. Not worth coming again.

Restaurant is cute and the food is good. Waitstaff leaves more to be desired.

We came here for hotpot during lunch. The service is quick and the food is tasty. We ordered golden spicy beef soup and sour cabbage lamb hotpot which also serve with rice. Both hotpot are great especially on a cold day. The place gets pretty busy quickly too.
