The Best African food I've tasted. I had the Jollof rice and spicy chicken. And did she give us a plate full. My Husband had one of their soups he enjoyed it. We will Definitely be back!!! They give us our money worth!!!
I wanted to rate this restaurant higher than 3 stars but they lacked ample attention to the customer. Customer service could use improvement. It was my first time there and I didn’t get that warm feeling you get when an establishment appreciates your presence. I ordered jollof rice with chicken instead I was served jollof rice with hen. The meat was really tough and I immediately recognized the texture as hen. Probably my first and last visit there…sadly.
Walked in here to get food and felt so unwelcome I am a Black American and I felt that animosity when I walked through the door like they knew I wasn't African... I just wanted to get some good food
It felt very unwelcoming. I was asked what I wanted in a way that made me feel like I was intruding. when I asked if they had any vegan dishes I was simply told "we don't serve vegan." Ummm, ok...
Hands down one of the best! I’ve been coming here since I was a kid! And everything is authentic!!!
I recommend everyone to eat here its what you want to eat you will truly get here with a good taste. Thanks to SAFARI. i enjoyed the food
So good! The service and ambiance immaculate. I would recommend to anyone wanting to try Nigerian food.
Once you eat here You WILL be back !! Don't let Her serious all the time face distract you , she is actually a nice lady ? Order Mixed meat Stew . I drive from Pasadena once or more a month for it . I have been a customer since around 1998
Being born and raised in America can often present very few opportunities to taste authentic African food. I've always been curious though. After seeing this place from the road numerous times, I decided today would be the day I gave it a visit.First impressions: It felt as though I was visiting an elderly relative's home - - in a good way though! If you're expecting a fine dining atmosphere and typical American customer service you're bound to be disappointed... maybe even offended lol. The hospitality the hostess and server provided was not even attempting to be formal...which is fine by me. I thought both ladies were lovely and my business was welcomed all the same.I do agree with other reviews that have suggested the interior could be better maintained. However I did NOT see anything that I would consider unsanitary. The menu was handwritten on a blackboard with chalk and about a third of it was partially erased/smeared. I had to ask more than a few questions while ordering which the hostess graciously answered. The Food: I had the Egusi soup, Red stew, Jollof rice, and pounded yam (Fufu). I enjoyed everything except the Egusi, BUT I should say that I keep a meatless household. The only time I eat non-vegetarian dishes is when I'm trying to expose myself to different cuisines from the around the world. The Egusi tasted VERY gamy, but that could just be my palate/tastebuds since I don't eat meat often.Lastly, I came alone and I was not expecting the portions to be so large (the hostess did try to warn me as I was ordering ,but I didn't listen). If I return, I'm definitely bringing a friend or two and splitting the food (and the bill lol). I suspect that's the way it's intended to be served/eaten... by a party of two or more people. Overall, I wasn't blown away by the experience so I think three stars is a fair rating.
Nice and delicious African meal
