The food was great but I was sad to see that several of the items listed on the restaurant weeks menu online were not on the actual menu.

Amazing food and service as always! Will be back again for sure.

Second time there and we had the same waitress both times. She does a fantastic job. Food is great, service is on point and the ambiance is top notch

Food was wonderful, environment nice and service on the slow side. In all fairness, they may be short on staff. Love this restaurant.

Went for restaurant week. Menu a little different than posted, but Roost had unsuccessfully tried to change it. One item out by 7:00pm on menu. But the server was perfect and the food was outstanding. Tables are a little too crowded so it was a bit hot. But still loved this cute place with outstanding food and service.

My wife and I each enjoyed 3 of the 4 dishes we had. 2 of the 4 were excellent (starter - melon gazpacho, and mains - stuffed poblano pepper w/ mole & salmon). Unfortunately, according to our server, the kitchen was understaffed and we waited 30 minutes after finishing our mains for dessert. Others who were seated well after us had finished and left while we were still waiting for dessert to be served, which left us feeling a little frustrated. We may try again outside of Restaurant Week when it's a little less crowded.

We came for the first time and loved Andy our waiter. Very informative and kind. We had the cauliflower and bread for appetizers and we all loved it. The chili mole was the best entree of the night as well as the bangers and mash. The place was intimate and elegant. Definitely recommend Roost to everybody!

Amazing food and amazing service! Will definitely be adding this to my rotation of places to frequent!

Had dinner here first day of HRW. Came back to one of our places we’ve found over the last year in the city. Had the cantaloupe gestapo soup for course 1 of the special HRW menu. We were forced to have this choice as we don’t eat crude so we were a bit apprehensive about cantaloupe soup, but WOW we loved the taste. Next up was the famous fried cauliflower, a must have for one of us and the other chose the strawberry salad which was misnamed as it had a few thin slices of fruit and a lot of butter arugula, would stay away from this unless you like the greens. Dinner was salmon and the butchers cut steak ordered medium rare, and we must have waited 30 minutes for the course to be served, but we were enjoying our wine and not rushed, so it was fine. Carla kept coming by to see if we were ok and told us of progress on the preparation, but it was a bit longer than we would have liked and the place was maybe half full on a Monday night. Salmon in the okra tomato stew was great cooked to perfection, the medium rare steak was the end of the cut and so well done it was almost impossible to cut. Having waited we were going to just keep it, but since we couldn’t cut it, we sent it back. The next one was back on 5 minutes and was perfectly medium rare and nice. Desserts were the best, coffee and donut holes of course and the dark chocolate flan recommend by Carla. Maybe hiccups that day due to day 1 of HRW, but still enough goodness and great calm and quiet place we had a nice evening just the 2 of us.

Roost is always on our to-go places when we visit Houston. Great food, cozy ambiance and great service.
