Terrible customer service. Guy at the door has been incredibly rude on multiple occasions. No plans to go back.
What a great whiskey bar. Incredible selection, incredible cocktails, and the bartenders are awesome. Shout out to Brian, he's running an incredible place and I wish there were more places like it in Houston. Great vibes, fun to come with a group of friends or on a nice date.

They are mixologists for sure! • Chic and well decorated interior. • Safe upscale environment. I highly recommend this establishment for a nice upscale night out!
The coolest speakeasy ever. The drinks are all specialty and delicious, you'll have to try their flaming old fashioned for a smokey treat! Be warned that reservations are necessary for weekend nights if you want a table for your party. Great for a night with a couple friends or a date. Be prepared to fight for parking a bit and rely on the neighborhood behind the bar to avoid towing. Wear your nicer clothes and get ready for a great night.
Permission whiskey is simply the best whiskey bar in Houston. The bartenders are insanely good, service is amazing. The atmosphere is great. Reserve a table if ya can. The drinks are great, get the smoked old fashion. I’ll definitely be back.
Nice decor, speakeasy type of feel. Reminds me of spots in Detroit I used to visit. Intricately made spirits, the bartenders know what they’re doing here.
Why did it take so long for us to try this place?? Outstanding evening enjoyed here by us all. Such a great vibe and fun people watching. As a designer I can truly appreciate the effort and attention to detail implemented in achieving such a beautiful environment for all to enjoy. The lighting was perfect, dim in the right areas with a golden glow highlighting an impressive display of bottles and beverages behind the bar. Let's talk service... exceptional!! Truly Outstanding!! Jerry crafted our cocktails to perfection. All service was extremely friendly and accommodating. This place was busy and didn't skip a beat. The crowd was mostly a mix of late 20s and 30s, with a few mixed in over 40. We are in our 40s and didn't feel out of place at all. We look forward to going back soon and trying more cocktails and the food menu. Definitely make a reservation!
Very cool place with a relaxed and nice vibe. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and the locale has a wide selection of whiskey, bourbon, scotch, etc.My wife and I enjoyed the cocktails and it was a nice place for a date night.
Brought my dad here who enjoys dark liquor. They had EVERY kind of whiskey, bourbon, cognac you could imagine. They had many different price ranges but definitely the quality was there.We were greeted by Shanell (their newest member) , and had the pleasure of Alex serving us. Alex exceeded our expectations. He was smooth and took in account every detail we desired. They do go to Makers Mark and hand pick their barrels. Which allows them to personalize each barrel. wanted a rum drink and he gave a great coconut tiki drink which was perfect and reminded me of the islands. I then wanted something a big stronger and he did not disappoint.The smoked Old fashion my dad said was one of the best he had ever had. It had a great amount of smoke and orange and flavorful hint in it. It was wellll worth it. I wish they had more food options (yes even for a bar) but we will be back.Fun Facts to mention:They do not have a happy hour.They do have lockers($1200 for a locker$900 allocated for bottles of liquor$1 to open the locker/ or open the bottle when you visit)Great concept - I didn’t see an empty locker there and it was over 50 lockers.The place packed out while we were there. It was such a great spot with a wonderful ambience. We are already planning on visiting again!Thank you Alex for an amazing experience!
An Amazing Speakeasy style environment. Staff super helpful and a delight in all aspects of their service. Definitely will be returning next trip to Houston.
