I recently moved to Houston and began eating at Pappas. I tried it a few times, but the service quickly was not the same each time after. A lot of fat meat on my potato. The last time I went there was March 14. The loaded brisket potato had no actual meat but a few nuggets of fat meat on there. The cheese was not melted as usual. The extras were thrown into the tray.I took the food back inside after examining for a refund because I was tired of them messing over my order. The manager on duty pretended to issue a refund of the $19.43. It has been well over the days for the refund to be issued to me. Another manager offered a $30 gift card, but I do not want the gift card because I never want to eat there again.I am waiting for the guest services to return my call to issue my refund properly.Update: I was directed to Guest Services after calling corporate. My issue was handled promptly and properly which is rare, and I am completely satisfied with the outcome. I am changing my review from 1 start to 3 for that reason.
My daughter said the restaurant catfished us. The first time we went it was excellent! I couldn't stop talking about after our first visit. We went yesterday 3/19/22 when I dropped my daughter off at Rice University and it was horrible. The food was cold. I ordered the patty melt brisket and my daughter ordered the brisket burger with fries. Needless to say if we had this experience the first time we would have never went back

I had a 15 dollar chopped beef potatoThe chopped beef was burnt and nothing but fat. They should have known by looking at it that it was not appropriate to serve to customers and should trim the fat. I will stick to their cheeseburgers that are amazing.
12/22/2021 I spent $43.08 today 1 whole pecan pie , 1 large lemonade 1 slice beef sandwich the brisket was chunks of fat "see photo" this was at 11:30AM so you would think the beef would be fresh not dry it looked like it had been pieces they cut off of something to throw away . I contacted the corporate office they sent me an auto response saying they would give my feedback to the general manager. The only way we are going to show these companies that they can't take our money and give us trash is to keep our money in our pockets and cook at home. This is not the first time with bad service at this location I have sent in so many complaints they have blocked my email address so now I have to send my complaints from someone else email address if only they would address the problem train the staff is it that hard to get people to work
Curbside pick up is very unorganized. My employer gives me 30 minutes to eat lunch. So I order curbside ahead of time. But there is only one pick up spot and with cRs always being in front of me who clearly don't have their food ready. So I have to wait until those cars are helped before me. And now I have 10 minutes to eat a cold burger and cold rib platters... thanks....
I’m so disappointed, I was on my way to work and so hungry and craving a chef salad from Pappas BBQ.I haven’t had one in a long time, so I decided to stop by 8777 Main St location on my way to work and buy one. I order from the drive through and couldn’t wait to get to work to eat my salad before my shift started. When I open the container the disappointment and couldn’t believe what I had in front of me. I had paid $15.10 for this, and on top of it burn meat!!!!? I was like where is the rest of my salad?who’s leftovers are this? Unbelievable!!!Now I have to work my eight hours shift disappointed, angry, hungry and with $15.10 dollars in my pocket.If you go to this location please check your order before leaving, because if not you’ll probably end up like me!!!!!??
This place was decent. They had a broad range of items to choose from. Little on the pricey side but the food was good. Certainly have had better but still pretty good.
Today we had lunch here, they were out of ham and pork ribs for a mixed order. I then had to change my meat from a mixed plate to a 2 meat combo. Two beef ribs and sliced brisket, baked potato and a drink cost $32.90 I question cashier she said yes that what it is. My husband wouldn’t let me complain telling me things are high. Got to our table these dinosaur ribs were so tough you couldn’t get a bite. Not to make a fuss we brought them home this was the worst ever I had eaten there and we go every weekend. Cost and then tough it’s time to put them down. Can’t eat there again this was so sad.
Good BBQ. I ordered curbside pickup and waited less than 5 minutes. Friendly staff brought my order, no mistakes. Not a fan of the amount of meat for the $$. IMO there are better value choices.
