The cook should be cherished and protected at all cost. I had the some of the best food that I’ve had in my life here. This place is a Gem and I can’t wait to go again. The service was not the best but when the food is that good it don’t even matter.
We had lunch there after seeing the above 4.0 review rating. Ordered a few dishes including Wuxi Pork ribs, and fried beef. The dishes are small, the beef were cut thick and rough with a few pieces, and cooking was really so so, but the cost is about $16 per dish. I can get same or better quality from a local small takeout restaurant. A little disappointed not to see a good Shanghai style restaurant at Houston.
Excellent xaio long bao here. We also ordered scallion beef, and it was fantastic. It's a tiny place, so expect a wait if you go at mealtimes. If you want to look like a regular, write your name on the clipboard that's hanging on the door to get on the waiting list.
Hidden gem. Must try their chef specials; succulent and juicy soup dumplings and flavorful braised pork belly.
We had the braised pork belly, soup dumplings, and a pork noodle dish. Everything was delicious and the portions were perfect. Definitely want to come back and try more.
I ordered take out because I went with my dog. I told them I’ll need utensils but they still forgot. The xiaolongbao skin broke easily. It’s impossible to pick one up without breaking it. And they didn’t give vinegar with my to go order. I order multiple buns they all are supposed to come with vinegar and ginger
Rude owner. Told my mom if she didn’t have money don’t come back, since she used a credit card instead of cash. Clearly wants cash to hide money from the government. Disgusting attitude. Such a shame since this place has good food.
Excellent food!!! Soup dumplings were delicious. Green beans were as good as some I’ve had in Hong Kong. We also enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken, chicken flat noodles with cabbage and onions (like lo mein), tiny wonton soup, egg rolls, and pork and shrimp dumplings. Photos of food and Menu as of 11/21/2021Service seemed slow but be patient. There’s a big language barrier and the masks make it more difficult.
We arrived at One Dragon on a Saturday evening. The waitress was not in particular hospitable. The restaurant had four customers at the time. We ordered Pork Xiao Long Bao, Yan Du Xian (soup), Tender Sweet & Sour Ribs, and Shanghai Noodle. The Pork Xiao Long Bao was excellent, the wrapper/skin was paper-thin and was very tasty. The ribs was tender and the sauce had the right amount of sourness. The noodles used in the Shanghai Noodle was not the usual thick noodle, the texture was very different when flat noodle was used and the onion was under cooked. The soup was below average. The main ingredients for the soup suppose to be fresh bamboo shoots, fresh pork, smoked port; however, I found no smoked pork, no fresh pork and no fresh bamboo shoots. Instead, salted pork, preserved bamboo shoots, and no fresh pork. The streamed rice was cold and was only enough to serve one person. We were quite disappointed. We spent over $50 dollars on this meal, and when we wanted to pay for the meal by credit card, the waitress asked us if we could pay with cash. We didn't understand the reasons behind the request, they clearly posted in the restaurant that they accepted Vise and Master Card.
Everything at One Dragon Restaurant was amazing. We ate every single bite of the chili ginger tilapia and scallion pancakes. I loved the soup dumplings so much that I had to order seconds. I have always been a fan of steamed dumplings but had never tried soup dumplings before. They are my new favorite and got expert advice on how to eat them so I won't waste any of the delicious broth.
