The reviews are spot on.The place was super crowded with wait time from 20 min to 1 hour but I could see why. Solid sushi and sashimi at unbeatable prices, and attentive servers. Throw in happy hour and you cannot find a better deal anywhere else! Loud environment and tight seating arrangements as the trade-off
My absolute favorite locally known but good quality sushi at a great price and value, the staff there is always courteous and attentive, and if you're a regular (I've been going there 25+ years) then it's like seeing extended family. Gotta get my fix for sushi at least twice a month if not more, and whether it's to-go or eating there, it's always good quality sushi and above standard customer service! Keep up the good work, and for those that don't know yes parking sucks but please be mindful of how slim the spaces are when parking. In general be kind to others and love one another and this world will be a better place.IF you've never had the kani salad get it and thank me later!
I am definitely going back again!Restaurants offering amazing good and not very expensive are my favorites end Oishii is one amongst them. The menu is elaborate and you have options to select from. I recommend a reservation during busy hours as they have indoor seating only.We tried their Lychee sake. On the sushi part, there was so much to select from, the servers help you. The quantity is good.Definitely recommend this place for a chill Japanese cuisine.
By far, Oishii is my favorite sushi place in Houston! Great prices, excellent customer service, amazing food and drinks. The owners are so sweet and professional, they always make sure all customers are satisfied. You must try everything on the menu, like literally, EVERYTHING!! Some of my personal favorites are the TiffyLou Bowl (off the menu & inspired by Tiffany Scales a.k.a. The Wordmatician), the baked mussels, seaweed salad, vegetable tempura, Oishii Maki, Alaska Maki, Cajun Hand Roll, Ika Tempura, etc. Please just go visit this place and bring your family and friends with you, you won’t be disappointed!!
A friend of mine introduced me to this place and I am glad she did. The place is small with limited seating so the wait is about an hour a and this was on a Tuesday. However there Happy Hour menu is insanely good, buy one get one so it's totally worth it. The place feels warm and comfortable. The server was on it and got our order fast. When the food came everything was right and delicious! The food had tons of flavor and it was fresh. Definitely coming back
Pretty decent sushi for the value. We ordered the special B and beef udon noodles. We went on a Thursday and even at 9 pm (they close at 10 pm) they were pretty busy. Food came out pretty quick.
The lunch special (with an added California roll) is a ton of sushi for an incredibly low price. The quality is outstanding, too. The lunch rush packed the small building, so I assumed the service would be pretty bad, but I was wrong. The staff are helpful, thoughtful, and clearly capable of handling more people than I am, even as a customer. Really enjoyed my takeout lunch from there today and plan to return frequently.
Surprisingly inexpensive for the quality. Service was pretty quick even though they were very busy late into lunch time, and the staff was attentive and helpful.Their sushi rice was a bit more seasoned than I'm used to, and the cucumber sunomono was a little bland, but otherwise the food was very good. The fish was good quality, and the 9 piece sushi set had plenty of variety and things that i had not tried before.Oishii seems to have plenty of options for fun combos and many different fish options. I'm very satisfied and will be back when I want some good sushi for a good price ?
If you haven’t discovered this happy hour yet are you even from Houston? There’s a reason the wait gets over an hour during happy hour. The apps are buy one get one free and they’re only $4 not to mention the $2 kirins and the sake which I can’t remember if it’s $3-5If you wanna be a part of happy hour then arrive early even then you may still wait a while and service is slow because they’re constantly busy. Just relax and order all your apps when you sit. It will be fine and you’ll leave full and with a check less that $35 for two peopleI will say that the chicken katsu bento is my fave menu item. It just a great value and delicious
Been coming here for years... food is always good, prices are great, but this time the Soki, was watered-down... finding that at a lot of Asian spots around town. Hope this can improve soon.
