The only complaint I have is that my crab puffs were burnt and over cooked. My other ordered food was good. The combo rice was unseasoned as well. Overall, I would try again but sit in and eat.Parking: Not good if you're looking for a good spot. Get there early or find so.ewhere else.
Miyako is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in town. Their sushi are so delicious and authentic. I have tried their noodles and fried rice too. Every item is a must try here. I have been going here since 2009. Love the ambiance and the service and of course their food. Be sure to join their vip email for special offers.
Overall good sushi, good sake, the ginger and wasabi were very good. We got: Crazy Caterpillar, Crunchy, New York, Mardi Gras, with the 7 Spice Calamari appetizer. The 4 star instead of 5 is due to roll size being smaller than I'm use to and they brought out thee rolls as they were being completed, so made a mixed eating atmosphere and had to wait till everyone was done for about 5 minutes to get one of the rolls.
The food tastes great. Hot Foods, Hot. Cold foods, Cold. The server was cool. I think the price of the Bento ($30) will be a little steep for some people for the portions. The restaurant was decent, but the chairs were a little dirty (to includethe other tables around us). No parking space in front of the restaurant. The parking spaces in front were mostly reserved for valet parking. I found that so weird.
Nice atmosphere, nice prices, everyone was super nice, and reverse happy hour is a plus
Miyako is a Mid-West Houston icon. I've gone here for years and its consistency is what you come to expect. Packed or not, this is the place to go for great sushi and a lively atmosphere. You know what you're going to get from Miyako, no surprises, just good food. Even if you sit at the bar, you will received top notch service. If you haven't been to Miyako in Mid-West Houston, you're blowing a great dining experience. Hint: order a side of sautéed vegetables; not listed on the menu but thank me later.Note: Parking is alittle tricky and be on the look out for sketchy people in the area; I wouldn't walk and be looking at my phone. I went in for dinner on a Friday night. I got seated right away. My server was very patient and helped me out with the menu since it was my first time. The atmosphere is very vivid and inviting. The food was amazing but the sushi could use some improvement. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and I will definitely be coming back.
I've made this my weekly spot to visit for happy hour. The food is good with good prices. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because twice I've come in and go straight to the bar with the other patrons. It always takes the many staff members to acknowledge your existence. The ,what i perceive to be, owner will stop to check the drink ticket orders being printed. She always looks lost but will hesitantly start making drinks. Meanwhile the staff stands around on their phones. It's not even that busy. The owner will take a look around the bar but won't make eye contact. She waits until her evening bartender arrives for him to start his shift. He's a very nice and attentive guy. All others, including the owner, not so much. Oh and please do something about the gnats flying around the bar. I know you see them. It's annoying swatting them so they don't get on your food or drinks.
Wonderful atmosphere and great food.
Great experience! Roger was great!
