If you LOVE Nashville hot chicken and have been to the original home of Nashville Hot chicken you need to try this place. Mico's extra hot comes in very close to the same level of heat. It's not a dry heat though like Nashville hot, but still oh so yummy! The chicken strips basket was perfect for the kids to split and they had a great time playing while we were waiting for our food. Only thing I think could have been better.....fans to help keep the flies away and maybe a hand washing station outside for when your done eating and your hands are covered in hot spicy mess.
So I've been to several hot chicken spots around the area and I have to say Mico's Hot Chicken is number one to me. The spicy level is great at medium and if you are feeling for some hot stuff the spicier stuff will get you sweating, and you will enjoy it because it taste so delicious, at least that was my experience with the X-Hot, it hurt but did it have flavor!I live in southwest Houston in Alief and I make the drive all the way there just to have their sandwich, even though there are some good spots that serve the same thing that are near me. Mico's is just that good.Highly recommended for anyone that is a fan of chicken sandwiches, especially if you like it hot.(Pic is of chicken sandwich at medium level with loaded fries at medium level as well)
Service was great, I got the hot and holy shxx!!! It’s fxxxxx hott! I liked the flavor but didn’t like that you can taste all the powdery season in every bite. We went back and got a mild and it was more sweet because of the coke slaw that comes inside and that was very messy! The lemonade was delicious as were the fried pickles with that sauce that comes with them…so good!
Loved the waffle fries. Got the medium and hot chicken sandwiches. They both seemed to have some kind of tamarind dry rub that added some sweetness, but I'm not a huge fan of tamarind in general. The heat in the hot chicken sandwich seemed to just be a dry heat, as if they added another spoonful of chili or something. Loved the spacious outdoor seating
This spot got great reviews from myself but my wife will say otherwise. We'll get her bad out the way first, she says she doesn't like the sweetness on the mild temperature. Good thing her opinion don't matter because this my review! Hahaha! I had the hot and it was delicious. Perfect amount of heat to be enjoyable but not so much to be uncomfortable. At that flavor level, I honestly didn't taste much/any sweetness but I did taste it on her mild. Either way, why would you come to a hot chicken place and get mild?!?! Should've went to Chick-fil-A! Overall I loved it and will definitely try it again without the wife. I'm not sure if I would put this place at the top of my list but it's still a great choice.
I absolutely love this place! The best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. The flavor, the spice, the seasoning all have my tastebuds singing for more. Everything you order is great!
Flavorful chicken. I got the 3 piece chicken tenders, mild, that comes with waffle fries and a piece of bread at the bottom. The mild was both sweet and smokey, yet contained no heat. The fried pickles are delicious and the breading reminds me of fried green tomatoes. My husband got the extra hot chicken sammich and it throws a punch.
When we stopped by I couldn't help but notice the great patio setup if it wasn't chilly we would've stuck around. The menu is simple, ordering is easy. Unfortunately the customer service was lacking. Two points 1) Cashier told us we'd get a text that our order is ready, no text came and had to walk in and check on order to be ready. 2) After ordering I asked the cashier to change my spice level of the sandwich after overhearing that the mild spice isn't hot. I asked for medium spice level but the sandwich I recieved was still mild. As for the sandwich it was soo oily I felt sick after. The mild was no spice at all, the coleslaw made the burger more sweet than savoury. The loaded fries were ok, nothing special you could still feel the overused oil seeping out the chicken breading. They're just sub-par seasoned and deep-fried chic fil a fries. Felt disappointed after hearing good reviews on TikTok. I would go back to Main Chick.
Best chicken sandwich ever! I got the hot and it was very spicy with a nice deep heat without taking away flavor from the spices. The bun was nice and soft and the chicken was well seasoned and juicy. The hot shake fries were so good as well and I got them with the hot seasoning. I would come back here without a doubt
