WOW! Just found a new place to eat when in this side of town. Tastes like my own mawmaw made this food.Mashed potatoes from scratch. Even Mac& cheese from scratch!Delicious!!!Little hole-in-the-wall place. Do yourself a favor and drop in for some yummy food. They make you feel like family.
If you want real southern comfort food come here! I loooved the chicken fried steak and the white gravy is delicious.

Food was good. Staff was very rude to an elderly gentleman customer. Probably will not return.They seemed understaffed when I visited. Had to wait 10 minutes to place my order even though there were only two other customers there. They were sitting waiting for their order.
After calling in for one chitterlings dinner I got there an hour later, which you have to do with this place. Still had to wait another 15 minutes. They raised their price from $17 to $25. The portions are not big and after all that I got home and the food is too salty to eat! No point in calling to complain because they don’t care. Never again.
My husband had been craving spaghetti but I didn’t feel like cooking it. He had received a few recommendations to come here and they did not disappoint.When we walked in and asked about the spaghetti they initially said they were out of spaghetti. I could see the disappointment on his face. Then the lady said she could get the spaghetti for us but there would be a wait. It was well worth the wait and there was even enough for me. Y’all, this spaghetti was so good! I’ve lived in Houston all my life and have never eaten at this place and when I tell you, I can’t wait to try their other food.
Food was the best I’ve had in a long time. I want to try all of their items. I’m from out of town, but believe me!!!! Best home cooking. Everyone very nice. Made me feel at home! Wish we had a place like this close to home! Hard working people that acted like they knew you.
Food is delicious. I live an hour away, but when I make my way to Houston I stop here to eat whenever I can. Staff is friendly. They’re radio plays all the jams. Love this place.
Stopped in at 2p on a Thursday. Saw all the reviews saying they take a long time and thought later was better. Waited 35 minutes.The oxtail was tender but not fall-off- the-bone tender like another soul food place we go to. The chicken fried steak was a little salty, as was the mac 'n cheese. Green beans and yams were fine. The cornbread was pretty flat.The cashier was nice.
1st time here. Food is the BEST!! Service is wonderful. They do what they can . as this is a family own business. Believe 3 people work here. Very nice people. Will come back.
