I've been here with several old friends from Chengdu and we always find the food delicious, service prompt, fair prices. This is one of several outlets, but all are good. Had mapo tofu and shui zhu niu rou this time but the gung pao ji and Dan Dan myeong good too.

An authentic Sichuan experience. The waitress was great! Beautiful, friendly and helpful. She made recommendations that were perfect. The meal started with a mixed vegetable noodle dish. This was followed by eggplant. Finally we finished with 4 joy lion head, a dish of meatballs in a delicious gravy with vegetables that I have never found elsewhere. The meal we ordered had so much food we took half of it home.

I'm from Sichuan, bit of a hard-to-please food snob. Their menu is not just some knockoff Sichuan place. Mala is always on point bringing out authenticity, but at the same time a sophisticated customer can appreciate their infusion of modern elements in traditional dishes. And I always love bringing friends and family here coz they always have a good vibe, friendly staff and the best drinks !!!!! Definitely try Mapo Tofu and Spicy Crispy Chicken. You won't see tofu the same.

The pork and bamboo dish was delicious :) the spice level here is pretty reserved in my opinion for Szechuan cuisine, so go ahead and try some of the spicier dishes! Pretty authentic and tasty overall.

Great authentic Sichuan restaurant in Houston. We ordered Mapo Tofu, Water Boiled Fish Fillet and Spicy Crispy Chicken. All great dishes to eat with rice if you can stand the spice. The Spicy Crispy Chicken is the most popular here for good reason. I like the hot tea they served in a heavy ceramic kettle too. I would eat here again if I have the chance.

Delicious … the hot and sour soup was so tasty. The prices are reasonable and food is great! The tea was delicious as well! Highly recommend this restaurant!!

This location is our favorite spot any weekend. The customer service is always excellent. Joe made our Valentines dinner a memorable one. Thank you Joe!

Ok. I don't understand the good reviews.Definitely small portions, big price. Now maybe this is just a preference, but the food was just bland. No spice, and the sauces uninspiring.Even the presentation was a turn off. I got bamboo and pork and they cut the pork in long, twirly strips. Made it look like intestines and bamboo.Being from San Francisco we are not strangers to Asian food. Perhaps we prefer mainland Chinese food.Staff was quick and friendly, however.

Nice quiet setting and the food is suburb! Staff is extremely friendly and attentive!

This food is great, every single time. Can’t beat it. I got the boiling beef and sautéed garlic cabbage with of course super fresh white rice. Service is great, punctual, and food is cooked fresh to order and perfectly spiced and combined every time. Will definitely recommend and bring family and friends back!
