Lucille’s Restaurant in Houston was one of the most wonderful highlights of our vacation in Houston. Their southern dishes did not disappoint. We started off the meal with a watermelon salad dressed in a lemon ginger vinaigrette that makes you hope the chef has shares the recipe in a cookbook. The cornbread was absolutely delicious as was the the smothered steak and fried chicken. This is a restaurant that needs to be experienced if you’re visiting Houston.

We ordered the catfish and grits, oxtail greens, and mac n cheese. The food was AMAZING. Best mac n cheese I had at any Houston establishment. My wife didn't like the grits that much, stated it could be season better, but also said it went well enough with the pickled garnishment. So because of that and the crowded/vibe atmosphere is while I deducted just one star. But will definitely go again.

We had a great server and the food was very good. We had to sit outside because they do not take same day reservations but the patio was well shaded and they had misting fans to keep us cool. We had the Chilli biscuits for an appetizer then I order the oxtail and my partner ordered the fish and grits with a side of Mac and cheese. We left full and happy

This was our first time eating at Lucille’s and took us back to our granny’s kitchen. The food was exceptional and the staff was super friendly and so attentive. If you love soul food, run…don’t walk to this place. We will be frequent diners here for sure. Can’t believe they have been open for 10 years and we just found out about this place.

Recently took a short road trip to the great city of Houston, Texas to visit some relatives and also to view a special exhibition at The Museum of Fine Arts. While I was in Houston I had lunch at Lucille's, a restaurant that has been on my radar for the last couple of years. My party of 4 was quickly seated, as we did have a reservation. We started lunch with Fried Green Tomatoes and they were hot and delicious. For the main entree my cousin's wife and I both ordered the Yardbird, which is 2 pieces of Fried Chicken (leg & thigh) with smoked mashed potatoes and FRESH Collard Greens with a side of cornbread. My sister ordered the seared scallops with a side of Collard Greens, my cousin decided on the Hot Chicken Sandwich with Fries. EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING was on point. No complaints, the food was Absolutely Scrumptious and the service was Exceptional (Thanks Joseph). We finished lunch with dessert, warm bread pudding with berries on top ?. Definitely a Winner. Lucille's lived up to all the rave reviews. The only drawback was the the limited amount of parking around the restaurant but, other than that 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Great dinner everything was absolutely delicious. Service was a bit slow but I understand there is still a lot of places short staffed including my own business. Cocktails we’re delicious, nice and unique mixers. Octopus appetizer was amazing and our favorite appetizer, biscuits were ok for them being their signature appetizer. Pork and beans main course was overall very good, just lacked a bit of salt. Braised oxtails was just perfect! Overall had a great experience and we see ourselves coming back in the future.

We had a Mother’s Day brunch. It was a small place and super popular. Everyone was waiting outside. The inside was so hot. The Houston heat was even on the inside. The food was good. Flavorful. The entree was huge but appetizers were too tiny. The price is pretty high though. Foods good, overall would come back. The service was soso, it was crowded so it was understandable.Catfish and grits 5/5Catfish was fried hard. It had a cornbread batter. Flavor was very seasoned. Grits were pretty good. A good texture.Chili biscuit 2/5It was super duper tiny I think it looked like a child’s food. Like I could stuff all in my mouth for a bite really. Flavor was good I think but I wouldn’t know since it was so tiny.Burger 4/5Very good size burger. Fries were crispy and seasoned.Chicken fried steak 5/5Seasoned well. Huge piece. Mash potatoes seasoned.

Woke up Sunday morning and saw the place advertised on fox Houston as black owned soul food restaurant in Houston Museum District at 6:30 am. By 9:30 am wife and I are headed out the door. I was afraid that we were too late because it opened at 10:00 am and we were about 45 minutes away. Got there and people had reservations and were taken right in. Parking was free on the street or complimentary valet in front. All outside was booked but they immediately sat us upstairs in a small but quaint area. No wait at 10:30am! Surprisingly! A+! You have to try the fried green tomatoes! Signature dish. Dishes were well prepared, hot, flavorful, quick, and good portions. Service A+ and prices is comparable to the decor, service, quality of food, and all! You will feel special visiting this place. Sunday outside in back is definitely the ultimate way to experience this diamond in the rough on a Sunday morning. Live band out there as well. We peeped out the outside and knew we missed it. You have to do reservations well in advance online for the outside seating. We will do the outside next time!

Delicious food, everything was amazing! I definitely recommend the shrimp & grits from the brunch menu: it’s not your typical S&G, since it’s served with a sherry tomato broth, but it was good anyway! 9/10, definitely will come back!

Really loved our brunch this past Saturday! The French toast made from croissants is absolutely amazing. It was my favorite of all of our dishes! It is a small spot so you definitely want to make reservations. Also, they do have valet so that is nice as well to know. The staff is super nice and helpful!Looking forward to returning!
