I liked the everything bagel. It was firm and chewy with good structure — not thick and doughy. I would go back and order it again. However, the cheddar jalapeño bagel was disappointing — too light and fluffy. The three ladies working behind the counter were friendly and cheerful. The service was fast, efficient. When I go into a bagel shop, I like to be hit with the scent of bagels baking in an oven, but I didn’t get that at this shop. Perhaps the bagels are made off site or maybe they came out of the oven long ago (I arrived at 7 am). I also like to see baskets and bins piled high with fresh bagels, but the shop had a relatively small case with trays displaying six bagels of each variety. It seemed very clinical to me. But taste and service are most important, and I don’t expect a place to live up to my expectation of what a shop should look like. Overall, I liked the bagels and would go back.
Stopped by randomly after the rain last week and was pleasantly surprised. Been looking for a new bagel place after Golden Bagel shut down. Although the place not as big size-wise or menu-wise the bagels were really good and piping hot after I placed my order. Got an everything bagel, blueberry bagel, asiago bagel, and jalapeno bagel with the bacon onion ranch, kimchi, garlic and classic cream cheese, not in that order mind you, so I could try a variety. I will definitely be coming back and will definitely be bringing the family this time.
You guys are Stellar!! We stopped by to grab a half dozen mixed bagels with spreads and coffee and let me tell you, they were sooooo good! The girls at the shop were so inviting and friendly I absolutely love this place! This bagel shop also has such cute decor! (I love y'alls blue chairs!) <3
Full Disclosure: I have never left a review before in my life but this place made me start. I have been to almost every bagel place in Houston but a friend told me to check this new place out in midtown so I stopped by to give it a try. Their menu had quite a few different things going on. There were things I haven't seen before at any other bagel place and I'm a fan of new things.First off, they use what I can only describe as a pizza oven to toast up their bagels and at first I was kinda skeptical. I ordered 2 jalapeno bagels one with kimchi cream cheese and the other with jalapeno salsa cream cheese, some fruit drink with chinese characters on it, a chocolate moon pie, and.........chinese turtle chips. This place is wild! and def a nice surprise. The jalap salsa cream cheese was damn good on a jalap bagel. I don't even know what a kimchi is but it was even better than the jalap salsa!TLDR; If you're down to try something new, this is by far one of the best quick breakfast/bagel places in Houston! and also the most unique.......TURTLE CHIPS, LOL!*apparently my daughter says the drinks and chips are NOT chinese, they are korean.
I visited for the first time a couple of week ago to try it out. The menu is pretty limited, my bagel sandwich was tasteless. The service was terrible. The person taking my order not only got it incorrect but acted as if she was doing me a favor. I will just go over to the hot bagel shop next time
I just left this place.. I found it online and decided to try it out.. everything I asked for they were sold out of. Which was fine.. things happen, so I changed my order up.. when it was time to pay I only had cash.. I was told they only take cards as payment! ( There was no sign posted ) This is my first and last time coming to this establishment..**Update.. after leaving this place unsatisfied. I found another bagel place called Hot bagel shop.. the difference was like night and day. Hot bagel was fully stocked.. the bagel was fresh and delicious.. oh and they took cash. **
The employee was friendly, but kept trying to toast my bagel that I said right away I didn’t want toasted. The cream cheese is liquid, and the bagels aren’t really bagels. Just bread shaped like bagels. :(Ps I saw a previous review that said the bagels are just bread and the restaurant replied that bagels are bread. I’d like to point out that sandwich bread and bagels take different ingredients, kneading time, and processes for cooking. If they don’t realize this, they don’t know what bagels are.
Delicious!!!Very nice place, quiet, and clean. The staff was very friendly and the food was very tasteful. I am not a local to Houston but if/when I come back I will return to this cute little spot for a bite.
What's in a name... if "bagel" is in your name... Well you better have good bagels. These are about the taste and quality you get at your grocery freezer section. Was so sorry to say that as I was excited a new place to find. But this is a sandwich place that uses poorly made bagels as bread. Sorry not a place I would repeat In fact I bought some to bring home and will leave them with a shelter and go to a real bagel place for more. Sadly disappointed
Great local place for breakfast. As the name suggests it’s a bagel place but they serve bagel sandwiches and such for breakfast and lunch but also by the dozen. The variety of bagels abs spreads are great and should give it a try.
