The sushi is 3 stars but the whole experience is 5 stars. It feels like your in Tokyo when you enter inside. The modern efficiancy of it all changes ones perception of eating in the average restaurant. Your surroundings here play a big part. The revolving plates of sushi and automated servers are fun to engage. Every 15 plates you get a prize ball that drops down like a candy dispenser.
Why I like Kura Sushi - Fresh ingredients that does not come with MSG, preservatives, artificial ingredients. Sushi plates on its conveyer belts are covered. Can eat once seated (as the conveyer belt is right in front of you). For popular items, rather than waiting for the conveyer belt to do its rounds, can order on the computer above your seat and the sushi will be delivered to your seat via another conveyer belt. Sushi plates are $2.90 each, making decision easy. Lots of selection, from pure sushi to creative nigiri and rolls. Also have a good dessert offering. Only downside is very limited sake selection and BYOB is not allowed. That is understandable, its model is fun sushi, quick table turn, and not an izakaya. Tips: Self check out is possible when restaurant is busy, there is no need to wait for service. For sushi lovers, can join their loyalty program (earn $5 for every $50 spent).
Amazing food! There were plenty of options to choose from and the location was very easy to find. Will definitely be coming back!
Eeek… did not enjoy this place. We have it a second chance after a yr or so of coming and being disappointed but it was close and thought it may have improved since…nope! Terrible sushi, sushi quality and portions. The scallop hand roll I ordered was still fully frozen with ice included! Disgusting. Edamame and miso was gross. Just not even a below average place for sushi.
Me and my bf love coming here all the time! It's great! Great service and amazing food. We love bringing our friends and family with us there sometimes.
So many great choices to choose from but there is also the option to fast track and order specific options to send to your table! We enjoyed the Philadelphia roll and Red Dragon roll and don’t forget to end the night with the Taiyaki Icecream! Definitely worth the try!
Their menu prices are a tiny tad lower while they are also more generous in giving you more wasabi and ginger. It's close to Beltway 8 and therefore easily and quickly accessible. Same great customer service. This is my favorite among three locations in the Greater Houston area.
