My Aunt and her daughter went to their restaurant to have lunch. It so happened they got stuck in the traffic and reached the place around 2.45 pm. When they got out of the car they saw that they were loading a truck with food for an event. One of the guys shouted in Tamil, telling them to go away the kitchen is closed. My aunt wanted to reply back but was polite and still went to the restaurant. The man person at the receptionist was polite and was about to seat them. when a man can running from outside and told him to tell them to leave the kitchen is closed. The guy at the receptionist did not know what to say but was still polite and said we are only serving meals no other dishes. my aunt and her daughter left the place. It was a very good day for them that my aunt did not lose her head. She understood every word they spoke. Just because you they had a big event order and tired that is no way to speak to a customer. If Indian treat Indians in this manner why will you expect courtesy from other people? They forget Indians are the only people who tip generously but these idiots stand hand and foot for the foreigners who will not leave a dime for cleaning after them. SHAME and VERY RUDE BEHAVIOR.
I really enjoyed my initial visit to this upbeat and friendly staffed restaurant. I was unsure as to what to order, so the manager made a few suggestions. All the items were tasty, a little spicy, on point, and served in a timely manner.I had a "Shrimp Appetizer", followed by "Chicken Tikki", "Rice", "Naan", and a "Special House Tea" to drink. All items were served with generous portions, and brought to the table on a tray with a large banana leaf. The presentation was unique, and made for an immediate note that they take pride in what they serve, and pay attention to all the details.I would say their "Naan" is much better than most other establishments. I think it is because they do theirs very, very thin, add the appropriate "Olive Oil" and seasonings I believe, and then toast it so that it has nice "charred spots" that add to the flavor."South Indian" themed music was upbeat, and very enjoyable to listen to while eating your meal. The music was different than what I was accustomed to, but it provided for an authentic experience.Great Job! Will definitely go back!
The place is pretty chic and the food is tasty !! The restaurant has rustic vibes. Their spicy curries are worth the try along with parathas. I wish the dosas were softer and chutney was more. Vegetable biriyani was fine but did not have much vegetables to it. Overall, worth the visit to this South Indian Tamil restaurant.
Flavorful dishes. Huge portions. Highly recommend. Pricing is reasonable for the times we're in. Definitely come here!
Food is perfect. Its amazing. Must try. But the service is very very poor. I had the worst experience with respect to service here. Complains about there being too many customers and new staff on Sunday with the lunch menu. But no business can tell their customers that they are busy enough to serve them especially not in a food business.Anyway, I would advise to go if you want good food and if you have enough patience to wait for you chicken 65 refills after you are done eating your whole plate. Food is worth the money but the service just makes you think…Is it really?
We went to Kumar's for lunch and they offered meals. They had both veg and non-veg meals. I had the veg meals and omg it was so yummy. My favorite was sambar and rice with papad. They serve the food on green leaf, typical Indian style. When I am in Houston I never miss to visit Kumar’s.
Tired Thalpakatti biryani and kottu paratha, it’s so delicious. Biryani is so fresh and felt like home made. Their filter coffee is good too. If you are in houston must try place. Heard it’s good for lunch but dinner is good too.
Where do I start, this is one of the best restaurants we have ever been! Food is very fresh and tastes exactly like a South Indian restaurant! We tried Dosa( Chutney and Sambar were so tasty. If you try in other restaurants it would be bland and never tastes fresh), Koth Parota, crab, meals, drink I think it was pineapple with coconut milk, don’t remember the name it was very tasty! Then we also had Fish fry and the meals! I can’t remember if we had more but everything was very tasty and we definitely will be going back!!
Finally tried this restaurant after hearing from lot of people the non veg thali was good but the vegetarian was just ok the curries were just ok , the mysore masala dosa tasted more like masala dosa & chicken 65 was dry . The 1st coffee we ordered was very good so we ordered 1 more which was just ok.
Authentic South Indian food. Try Chicken Kothu parata. They also serve South Indian thali.
